Historia
When quiet Orrin and his extroverted best friend, Daniel, were transported to a strange RPG-based world, not much changed between them. Daniel became a hero of legend, while Orrin remained his unobtrusive shadow. Only when they faced a particularly lethal foe did Orrin step out of his comfort zone and display his true worth—with powers he didn't know he had. Of course, Daniel got all the glory, but Orrin doesn't mind. He's just happy they're both still alive.

#1 relieved that the narration is no longer weirdly emphasizing skills, classes, etc.
#2. Prepare for a cliffhanger but don’t be deterred. This story gets better and better. Can’t wait for #3

Every book in this series leaves me craving more. While the author could conceivably conclude here, I hope he doesn’t. :) Now, I’m my way to the website to find out if there is more to look forward to.

Nineteen years ago, I was plucked from the heart of a bloody massacre that spared nobody else. Small. Fragile. An enigma. Now ward to a powerful High Master who knows too much and says too little, I lead a simple life, never straying from the confines of an imaginary line I've drawn around the castle grounds.

I love this author. I just finished book one of another series (when the moon fell, if I remember correctly). It is an awesome book, so I thought I’d try this one. This one…. Im undecided. I’m going into book 2 despite reservations because finally, at the end of book 1, some hidden information is finally coming out. Don’t get me wrong, there’s some good writing here … the pieces just aren’t fitting tightly yet. I understand the value of building in mystery and revelation .. but the absolute gap of detail between the prologue and chapter 1 is enormous…. And remains that way. I’m talking Grand Canyon enormous. This, the story seems convoluted due to lack of detail … the gaps are simply dragged out too far without appropriate rationale. Some I’ve (I think) figured out. I’m guessing all will become clear, and that the pieces will click together … so I’ve invested another credit. We shall see. (Narration is outstanding)

Historia
All the world's a stage...even when you're teleported to a new world. Struggling actress Cara O'Sullivan was walking down the street of Galway one moment, and the next, she was in an ancient tomb in a faraway world. Alone in the dark with her cell phone as her last tenuous connection to home, Cara sings her favorite song. To her astonishment, her song casts a spell of light into the world...and from the depths, something hears her. Challenged by a ghostly knight, a tragic necromancer, and hordes of undead, can a young woman who does not believe in heroes become one herself?

Love this “world” and enjoyed this side story … part 1
Revisado: 05-16-24
I love new characters in the Wandering Inn world, and that’s actually what this is … a side story, new characters in the same world, same mysterious appearance of the main character — mentions of some of the other WI main characters. Fascinating area of the world. Long, sometimes extremely irritating character development arc for the main character … but still a story worth sticking with … and I’m looking forward to what happens next. (Have some tissues handy)

Historia
Starseer, pilot, and animal lover Jelena Marchenko wants to prove to her parents that she's ready to captain her own freighter and help run the family business. When she finally talks them into getting a second ship and letting her fly it, it doesn't faze her that the craft is decades old and looks like a turtle. This is the chance she's craved for years. But it's not long before the opportunity to rescue mistreated lab animals lures her from her parentally approved cargo run and embroils her in a battle between warring corporations.

Mixed feelings
Revisado: 07-27-23
I really enjoy this author’s work and love that there’s a continuation of a series that I whole heartedly enjoyed in every respect. A new narrator in this portion of the series was an adjustment, but she does a great job and didn’t take long to get used to. I enjoyed the prequel story to this second portion of the series as much as the first portion of the series so purchased this to continue the story. The problem I’m having is the extreme immaturity of the main character —taking risks and such is expected … she’s her mother’s daughter — but the whining inner monologues and some of her justifications for decisions are a real stretch. I found myself wondering if the narrator had only performed the same pieces of the “script” a bit less whiney if it would have helped at all. I nearly quit the book around chapter 4 or so because it was just ruining the book. I stuck it out because I really wanted to hear the reunion with her parents and other beloved characters from the first series. I’m glad I stuck with it and will give book 2 a chance, hoping that she’s matured enough from the experiences in book 1 that there will be a significant reduction in her whining in book 2. Otherwise, the story is an interesting one, includes a great mix of action, suspense, and humor and (overall) great characters.

Alisa Marchenko has reunited with her daughter, and even though she hasn't figured out how to get Jelena to accept Leonidas yet, she dreams of the three of them starting a new life together. They can return the Star Nomad to its original purpose of running freight and staying out of trouble (mostly). Before that can happen, Alisa must fulfill the promise she made to Jelena: that she and her crew will retrieve young Prince Thorian, the boy who has become Jelena's best friend. But Thorian was kidnapped by the rogue Starseer Tymoteusz.

Revisado: 07-22-23
Absolutely enjoyed the entire series. Started with the first three as the “omnibus” audiobook purchase and continued to a satisfying completion. Great character development. Strong female characters. Overall excellent character and story development across the series (without the unnecessary lag that is all too often woven into other series simply to extend them). This epic was handled quite well!! Great narration performance as well! (Thank you for keeping the same narrator throughout!!)

Historia
All Dahlia wanted was her freedom. But first, she needed to buy out of her promised bonding - a promise that was made for her before she was even born. Almost a century of trying had taken its toll, and she did some things she isn’t proud of. She lost parts of herself along the way and flirted with the darkness inside her...and it flirted back. Everything in her life systematically blew up in her face one piece at a time. Blaming it all on the beautiful, egotistical vampire who showed up in her life would be easy, but it started long before he arrived.
