Story is Good, Person Reading Not Great
Revisado: 08-13-08
After having listened to The Da Vinci Code I was hoping the same person would be reading the story to us. The person reading this story has a gravelly voice that I don't like and I'm losing interst fast. I'd rather read it myself or wait until the movie comes out so I don't have to hear that unpleasant voice. I give it 3 stars for the story and no stars for the reader.

Historia
While in Paris on business, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon receives an urgent late-night phone call. The elderly curator of the Louvre has been murdered inside the museum, a baffling cipher found near the body. As Langdon and gifted French cryptologist, Sophie Neveu, sort through the bizarre riddle, they are stunned to discover a trail of clues hidden in the works of Da Vinci, clues visible for all to see and yet ingeniously disguised by the painter.

Book & Movie
Revisado: 08-13-08
The audio version of this is good. It helped to fill in some gaps that were left in the movie version. The person reading this book held my interest enough that I didn't want to stop listening. Makes me want to rewatch the movie to understand the gaps of information that we weren't told in the movie.

Historia
In this ingeniously funny collection of humorous riffs, those who thought Martin's gifts were confined to the screen will discover what readers of the New Yorker already know: that Martin is also a master of the written word. Hilariously funny and intelligent in their skewering of the topic at hand, these pieces feature Martin at his finest.

Boring Drivel
Revisado: 05-26-08
I would rate this as 1/2 start or no star if I could. Based on what other reviewers said about this being funny I thought I would get this one. This is anything but funny; it's down right boring drivel.

Historia
There is an island off the west coast of Ireland called Inis Muruch - the Island of the Mermaids - a world where myth is more powerful than truth, where the sea sings with the healing and haunting voices of women, and where death is never as strong as the redemptive power of family and love. It is here that Lisa Carey sets her lyrical and sensual first novel, weaving together the voices and lives of three generations of Irish-American women.

Character Switching
Revisado: 05-20-08
The book would be good if they didn't switch between the charaters so much. Too confusing with switching between them. Narration could be better.
