I really did try to like this...

I've had multiple friends recommend this series to me for years but have so many other physical books to read that I did not want to commit the time to explore this series...until I saw they were on Audible.
Before I continue with my experience of the story, for those who are looking for fantastic narrators, Michael Kramer and Kate Reading are wonderful, and I throughly enjoyed their performance (they also narrate the Stormlight Archives).
I love fantasy (the Stormlight Archives and Kingkiller Chronicles are the newest delights I've finally committed listening time to), but I could not get into these. I tried! I even listened to the second book all the way through!
The story is interesting, but it didn't "catch" me. I felt the main character was really whiny, and with the exception of Perrin, Thom, and Moiraine, I didn't really care much for the other main characters (actually, there were two minor characters introduced later I was starting to really like, but they died before their stories could continue, which was a shame). Learning that the series slows down as the books go on (and it already felt slow), I decided that this series isn't for me and moved on.
