Picture this - I’m ready to win back the love of my life, and I’m going big this time. We’re talking boom box, sing her name in the rain, let the whole damn neighborhood know I'm good and ready this time around. After all, if you're going to grand gesture the ever-loving hell out of a second chance, you need to pull out all the stops. There’s only one little problem. My college girlfriend isn't the one who shows up when I play my "I'll do anything to win you back" tune. The woman who flings open the second-floor window tells me my ex doesn’t live here anymore.

Rom-com perfection!
Revisado: 12-12-18
I don’t have a lot to say about this book. It was rom-com perfection. In fact, it was so amazing I still feel a bit of a book hangover and it’s been twelve freaking days since I finished listening to the audiobook. If that doesn’t tell you how amazing this book is then I don’t know what will!
Unzipped is an ‘80s-rom-com-inspired friends to lovers story. Yes, ’80-rom-com-inspired, your eyes are not playing tricks on you. So right off the bat that’s an amazing read, right? Well, there’s more. Not only does it have an incredibly sweet, romantic and funny storyline that will have you soaking up every single word from beginning to end, it also stars two adorable, brilliant, charming and a bit nerdy characters who are able to hold an entertaining conversation for longer than anyone EVER, who love roller coasters, who graduated in the art of flirting and who will have your belly and heart doing insane somersaults from the chemistry and tension overload. Is that perfection in a nutshell or what? It’s what my rom-com dreams are made of and I don’t doubt yours are too.
If my little pitch sounds like a great time to you then don’t even wait for the e-book copy to go live, go purchase the amazing audiobook. I cannot recommend it enough. I am obsessed with the narrators. They are able to portray the characters perfectly with their voices alone so please, please, please get yourself an early Christmas present by listening to this book.

Experience all the feels in this unforgettable second-chance standalone romance from number-one New York Times best-seller Lauren Blakely! I didn't break her heart, and she didn't break mine - we broke each other's. I never stopped loving her, but time and distance played its cruel role in ripping us apart three years ago when she moved halfway around the world. Now after all those endless miles away, she's returned...but I'm not the guy I was before.

Can't recommend this audiobook enough!
Revisado: 08-22-18
I want to cry all of the tears. All. of. them. Not only because this book is utter perfection but also because I am—once again—blow away by Lauren Blakely’s amazing writing powers. Just when I thought she couldn’t surprise anymore, she comes at me with this story that is so unlike her previous books yet still full of flirting and adventures and ALL of the romance. She keeps reminding me (as if I needed a reminder, ha!) time and time again why she is one of my favorite authors and she keeps proving how versatile she is. The woman can literally write whatever the heck she wants and nail it every single time I swear!
UNBREAK MY HEART is, like I said, not the usual sexy, funny, smart Lauren Blakely we all know and love. Well, that’s kind of a lie… it is all of those things but this time the story is also more about hope, love, grieve and healing. It’s a whirl wind of emotions. I don’t want to say exactly what it is about because I went into it not knowing anything and I loved the ride and I want all of you to experience that so I’ll say this; this story will take you through Andrew’s journey towards healing. You will grin, laugh, blush, cry, get your heart broken and your heart glued back together. You will learn about love, life and death and you will fall in love with the story and its characters.
Just like with every single one of her books, Lauren gave us wonderful main characters in UNBREAK MY HEART. Characters you are able to connect with, relate to and look up to from the moment you start reading. They will sneak so deep inside your heart it will be nearly impossible for you to forget them anytime soon. Andrew and Holland are two intelligent, witty, driven and passionate people who are clearly meant for each other. They are so full of love for each other and for the world and ah! I have so much love for them I might explode! They seriously would make even the most skeptics believe in love.
If you want to experience heartbreak, love and Tokyo but don’t really want to get your heart broken in real life, or haven’t found the right person, or don’t have the budget to pack your bags and travel to Tokyo, or all of the above then you NEED to listen to this audiobook right now and stay glued to it for six hours. It has the potential to be a six out of five stars book. I’m sure the second time around I’ll be giving this one a six and I hope y’all are able to enjoy it that much too.

I'll say this about Christian - he made one hell of a first impression. When I first saw the strapping man, he was doing handstands naked on a dock along the canal. His crown jewels were far more entertaining than anything else I'd seen on the boat tour, so I did what any curious woman would do - I took his photo.

Yet another amazing book by Lauren Blakely.
Revisado: 06-07-18
How am I even supposed to start a review for a book I loved so much I read it TWICE in four days? That is correct. Your eyes are not playing tricks on you, I read it two times. One time in e-book and one time in audiobook because there isn’t such a thing as getting tired of Lauren Blakely’s words. No, ma’am. That is not possible. And while reading this story in both formats was amazing, nothing will ever compare to listening to Christian’s British accent (narrated by Shane East) for seven hours.
PART-TIME LOVER is an original, sexy and very swoon-worthy marriage of convenience story—A.K.A. my favorite kind of story along with books about fake relationships. It is full of teasing and sexual tension and fun like every other book by Lauren but it is also mature and full of smart conversations between Christian and Elisa, the brilliant main characters. They seduce each other with their clever minds for a while before getting down and dirty which makes the story all the more interesting and impossible to stop reading.
I loved that this is also a second–chance-at-love story. Christian and Elise are both divorced and they’ve both been hurt . They might be afraid of loving again in case their love is not reciprocated or they get their heart-broken again (especially Elise) but that doesn’t hold them back from giving love a second chance once they realize they are in too deep. The fact that the story is narrated from both of their points of view takes everything up a notch because you really get to know them like the palm of your hand and it is easy to put yourself in their shoes, you can feel their pain and their passion and every up and down they have.
Get ready to fall in love with Paris if you weren’t already because Lauren is back at it again with the romance story set in the gorgeous city of love (or lights or whatever you want to call it). I don’t know if I’m in love with her way of describing all of the places her books are set in or absolutely hate it because she always gives me a severe case of wanderlust and that's a bummer when I want to pick up my bag and go but barely have a penny in my bank account.
(Of course I love it more than I hate it. Who doesn’t love imagining a romance set in Paris!!)
I am seriously running out of words to express how much I want y’all to give Lauren’s books a try. They are everything a hopeless romantic could ever ask for. I even think someone who is not that big of a fan of romances would be able to enjoy her stories too. Her writing is magnificent like that!!

Historia
Piper Perish inhales air and exhales art. The sooner she and her best friends can get out of Houston and get to New York City, the better. Art school has been Piper's dream her whole life, and now that senior year is halfway over, she's never felt more ready. But in the final months before graduation, things are weird with her friends and stressful with three different guys, and Piper's sister's tyrannical mental state seems to thwart every attempt at happiness for the close-knit Perish family.

An empowering read!
Revisado: 06-01-18
Just finished reading Piper Perish, I have dried tears in my cheeks and it’s 3:30 am (at the time I’m writing this). I was planning on going to sleep and writing my review when I wake up in a few hours with one heck of a book hangover but I HAD to write it now.
Piper Perish is an eighteen year old girl who’s dream is to go to art school in New York City with her two best friends, Enzo and Kit. She’s a big fan of Andy Warhol, such a fan that she even looks like him. Her last months as a high school senior are bananas. The book begins on New Year’s Eve, Piper has a terrible first day of the year. Let’s just say it involves someone getting out of a closet (who may or may not be her boyfriend), a whole lot of nudity in front of a whole lot of people and a very, very strange dance with some scarves involved. I would be lying if I told you her year got better from that moment on. For about seven months it is just one unfortunate event after another. And I’m not saying more because I want to keep this as spoiler free as I can. I will only add that she has the coolest art teacher ever (I need an Adams in my life ASAP). And she has the worst, THE WORST, sister ever. I can’t even tell you how many times throughout the book I wanted to kick her butt. Go read the book so you know what I’m talking about.
Now, onto the things I like about this book. Wish I could write just one big I LOVE EVERYTHING. But I want this to be longer than three words so I’m going to mention some of the things that like the most.
Piper Perish is written as if it was her diary. It is very emotional and raw. I like it because I feel as if I was actually sneaking around reading someone’s diary. And that makes it very easy and fun to read.
Art is my life. So I fell in love with the art theme of the book. Love the cover, love that she’s an artist, love that her friends are artists. It also has some of Piper’s paintings/drawings and streaks of paint and doodles here and there and it makes everything feel very real.
There are a lot of moments during the book where I felt connected to Piper. I felt her anger and her sadness. Maybe because I’ve gone through some of the things she went through in the book or maybe because Kayla Cagan has some secret super power to make you feel as I you were actually living Piper’s life.
I cried like a baby at the end of the book. Don’t worry, it’s not a sad ending and I think most people won’t shed a single tear and but I ADORE the ending so much that I had to cry some happy tears.
When you finish reading it with dry eyes you’ll think that I’m a crazy cry baby (that’s 100% true).
WHY did it have to end?! I wanted this book to last forever.
Reading Piper Perish is such an amazing experience. It doesn’t have a lot of laugh-out-loud moments, not that I remember anyways. Then again I have the worst memory. Just know that you are for sure going to have a fun time reading it. There are zero boring moments in Piper Perish’s life.
I do think people who are no longer young adults (sorry, my old folks out there) might not appreciate and/or like this book as much as a young mind would.
If you are a teenager then I suggest you go to your nearest bookstore (right now) to buy this book and then go back (running as fast as you can) to your house and settle in your favorite place to read and devour this lovely book.
