A lot of action packed into just under 4 hours.

I really enjoyed listening to this book. The writer didn't write about events that were really not necessary for this book. it was a fairly quick read, but the quality of the writing was excellent.
Great job!!

Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Awesome Series
Revisado: 07-20-12
Where does The Hunger Games rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This entire series is probably is in the top 3 for books that I have read, and I have been a member for many, many years. I actually picked the first book, based upon the reviews. I thought this book would have been to "young" for me, but most of the time, I forgot they were just teenagers. They handled the very difficult situations with a maturity of adults in their 20's to 30's.
The characters were very well developed, the voices were distinct enough to be able to tell who was speaking, and the story was very compelling. I very glad I took the time to read the reviews and the time that it took me to read the books, was time well spent.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I can't narrow it down to just one character.
What about Carolyn McCormick’s performance did you like?
Voices were very distinctive, which made it easy to follow along without having to be told. Also the voices fit the various personalities of the characters.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I didn't actually laugh or cry with this particular series, however there were several times I said OMG or Oh No! out loud.

Historia
Reminiscent of the best in today's suspense, from Jeffery Deaver's roller-coaster twists to James Patterson's cinematic pacing, Run the Risk introduces a blazing new talent in Scott Frost. As one of the writers behind Twin Peaks and The X-Files, he knows something about creating eerie and atmospheric tension. In this brilliant novel, he gives us a heroine who faces a challenge no one can ever be completely prepared for and a story as urgently and viscerally told as any in recent memory.

Great Story
Revisado: 09-04-05
This was a very interesting book. Lots of action, drama, and suspense. I would definitely recommend this book, in fact I have already have done so.
My only wish is that the narrator had a bit more energy in her voice, especially in the beginning. She sounded so tired, and spoke so softly, that I had to turn up the volumn a few times. Her style would fit in during the end of the story, but not to start off so tired sounding before the real action begins.

Why we think it’s a great listen: It’s easy to say that when it comes to sci-fi you either love it or you hate it. But with Ender’s Game, it seems to be you either love it or you love it.... The war with the Buggers has been raging for a hundred years, and the quest for the perfect general has been underway for almost as long. Enter Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, the result of decades of genetic experimentation.

Ender's Game----Fantastic
Revisado: 11-14-04
As I was growing up, I read a lot of science fiction, but somehow I missed this book and author. I'm fairly new to Audible, love how I can do what I need/want to do around the house and still get to "read" my books.
Right from the start, I had a hard time doing what I normally do, while I was listening to the story. What a great reintroduction to Sci Fi !! This book was very interesting from the first few tracks and it was hard to have to stop and wait until I could listen to the story again.
I will definitely read more books from this author.
