A Transformational Work

A truly transformational approach to communication. I listened to the audiobook read by the author, 3 times. This book has groundbreaking content and outstanding vocal performance. As an MD and mystery author myself, Mr. Gowdy’s tales of his physician father and criminal legal encounters were emotional, empathetic, and authentic. This is a must read for all authors, public speakers, and anyone else seeking to persuade and communicate effectively. I thank the author for choosing to write this book.

Fun look at the writing life

I love a caper book, and the robbery was so fun to be a part of. If you are a writer, or have ever thought about the writing life, you will love the quirky island characters. This is really a cozy, with little blood and gore. Dropped one star because I didn't get my car chase, shootout, or body count fix. But that's just me. Camino Island is an enjoyable and engaging story, well worth experiencing.

Cozy medical thriller

Pros: Nice writing style, lovable (or easy to hate) characters, good narration, easy to listen to. Cons: Story line rather sedate for a medical thriller, summed up as: A new disease, we cured it. I kept waiting for the big twist and the big action sequence, but it never came. If you like cozy stories, and you want a medical thriller without the hard-core gore, you'd like this book.

Engaging from start to finish

Lethal Misconduct could be called a political medical thriller. It's a true thriller, as it lays out the clear who-done-it and then starts the doomsday clock. There is enough of the mystery held back to satisfy mystery fans. Great characters and a strong plot wrapped up in a tight package.
