This is such a great book. It’s a progressional fantasy, a little like the LITRPG genre, or cultivation style books. I love everything Anchored Worlds and I can’t wait for book 2. Of course, Travis nailed it out of the park with narration again. All of the characters that are portrayed are not cardboard cut outs. Even the side characters seem to have depth. Davis really knows how to create a great world and wonderful story that keeps you wanting to know what happens next!

Seth Ring Hits It Out of the Park AGAIN!

Having consumed all of Seth Ring's other works, Nova Terra, I went into this book expecting much. And boy did he deliver!
Having been summoned to this game-like world some 10 years ago, John, our protagonist, suffered through 10 years of war and strife to retire with honors to a small out of the way farm in a valley far from the rest of society. Thus, there is a slight slice-of-life feel that was certainly welcome, especially since you could tell that Ring did his research into what farm life might have been like. John, a very over-powered mage with the ability to control flames, also uses his magic in very unique and interesting ways, such as drawing the heat from freshly chopped trees to cure the lumber, and welding metal rails together to create a track for a wagon. Despite his desire to be left alone however, John is drawn into altercations with the local class holders, and an adventuring party, the ramifications of which, could have far-reaching effects.
The side characters are also given their own and unique personalities. Elly is a strong and independent young lady trying to do best for herself and her younger brother, while Ferty was just a hoot!
While the book is technically LITRPG, it's not very crunchy. There are no minutes on end of stats and skills.
If you enjoyed books like Beware of Chicken, I definitely recommend this book. I am eagerly awaiting book two.
And as always, Kramer killed it with the narration!

First off, let me just say: Frank is by far one of the funniest characters. Are there Frank memes yet? If not, there should be.
Secondly: If you ahven't already, pick up this book. Not only is it 20 plus hours of LITRPG fun, but the characters are all believable and fun.
Sure, Ned pulls off a really jerky move near the beginning of the book, but as the story progresses, you learn more about what kind of guy he is. I actually found myself admiring Ned and his decisions regarding his past, his money, and his company.
Kirrin definitely delivered with one of the best books in the LITRPG genre. There are great fight scenes, character growth, amazing dialogue, and a very interesting world and class mechanic. I can't wait for book 2!!!!

This book was really good, a great continuation from the previous two. While I felt that the beginning was a little slow, it definitely picked up. I like that Dakon is a very likeable character and every one of us can agree with the purpose he is now fighting for: klein's return. I can't wait for book4! And as always, anything Podehl narrates is wonderfully done. His range of voices is just mind boggling!

6 OUT OF 5 STARS!

Seriously. This book deserves a 6 out of 5 stars.
I recently read through other cultivation style books and was not impressed with the characters. Truthfully, I could not have cared less if they lived or died, but Michael has given me new hope for this series.
Finally, a main character who I can actually like!
The premise: Jim knows how the world is ending. He may or may not even be partially to blame. The gods of his portion of the universe send him back in time to fix the mistake to save billions.
So that sounds similar to a lot of other titles that have recently popped up. A second chance. A redo.
But Reincarnation is different!
As he goes back in time, Jim is not in the body of an adult, but his 10 year old self. Not only is he physically weak, but he has just now entered the world of cultivation.
However, Jim's knowledge and memory of control over his chi allows him to be quite over powered, not because he has inordinate amounts of power, but because of his skill. This was a nice spin on the genre, as I enjoy that skill is emphasized more than brute power.
Jim is also a likeable character. He has a moral code that I agreed with, but also wasn't a holier than thou Paladin archetype. He was also battle hardened enough to make the tough choices, EG. Killing one of his enemies so said enemy would not stab him in the back later. How many stories have you read where the main character spares someone, only to have everything ruined by the person they spared/let get away?
Seriously. Read this book. You will not be disappointed.
On the plus side, Baldree narrates it, and I've pretty much enjoyed everything he narrates!

This was a great book. It runs a little similar to Haddock's other book on Audible: Wizard's Alley. But great book. The character is pretty over powered and the other characters lack a little substance, but I still enjoyed the read. Sometimes you just want to read how the main character gets to stomp on those who oppose him, right? Well, if you like that, this book is for you. The main character, Aaron/Ross is a great swordsman and wizard and uses his powers to better both himself, and then the infrastructure of his kindgom. I really want book 2, because of the story's ending. Not a cliff hanger, but it leads to a whole new story arc that could take place. And as always, Wisniewski's delivery was fantastic. He's got dulcet tones!

I've read several other books where the main character goes back in time and starts over to save the world or humanity, or what-have-you. And by far, Rewind trumps them all. Not only are the fight scenes very well done and possess a viceral sort of realism, (as in, he's not backflipping across the battlefield while slaying 40 enemies with a wave of his sword), but the gritty details of the world just have this way of drawing you in. The narrator also did a great job using different voices for different characters, which was really fun, and I can't wait for book 2!

If you like books with overpowered main characters who still struggle, then this book is for you! I seriously can’t stress how good this book was. Thorn was surprisingly wise considering his age and even though he was a little socially awkward due to his upbringing, that leaves room for him to grow as a character. I really love this series, and the narration was top notch. His incredible strength reminds me a little of Montana from the good guys series, but his use of his brain makes for a more enjoyable read if you’re less into gore. Really. Pick up this book!

Someone already posted this before, but I'd like to reitterate.
The episodic way in which this story was told, each with a minor plotline derived from rising action, climax, and falling action, all leading to a final culmination of epic proportions really lends itself to being perfectly suited for a Netflix tv series.
It is a great book that came out of left field. Cooper is a true wordsmith that draws you in to his fantastical realm and makes you really feel the character's exhaustion for combat.
It reminded me a little of the Night Angel Trilogy, save for the character being older and wiser, where he seeks redemption for a terrible past. Stories like this always draw me in. Cannot wait for book2!

This was a good book.
I generally enjoy books where the characters are sent to some sort of academy to learn magic/how to fight, so this was quite a nice little read.
The main character is a likeable youth who was often bullied for his father's betrayal.
I think that the only complaint I had about this book was that the main character did not have more ranger-like skills. His father was one of the best, after all, so it is unrealistic that he did not teach his son any other skills. He did have some - he could track game well, but he was a poor shot with the bow, and was not a very compitent hunter.
This is still a 5 out of 5 for me. I can't wait for book2.
