This is a Great Series
Revisado: 03-13-19
I was waiting for Book 5 to come out, I have loved this series by Lucinda Riley and have read every book she has written. I love the weaving of the past and the present through her story and the exotic places this series has gone to has been so informative and interesting. I gave the story a 4 only because it was not as riveting as the prior 4 books, but it was still darn good.

Molly Harper and Amanda Ronconi make a great team. I love the humor that Molly brings to here characters. My only complaint? It was too short. Can't wait for the next book from them.

I think these three authors, working together, are incredible. I loved The Forgotten Room, and when I saw this one by the same group, I jumped on it. The way they weave a storyline through different generations kept me listening. Great Job.

Revisado: 09-20-16
Any additional comments?
I like Barbara Taylor Bradford and have always enjoyed her books, but as I read this book, I could not help but think back to Downton Abbey and how many of the story lines in Downton were in Cavendon House. I finished the book, but not sure if I will continue the series.

I was drawn into this book from the beginning and found excuses to pop on my headphones to continue listening to it. It was very thought-provoking on how the decisions we make in our lives affects our destiny and the lives of others. I thoroughly enjoyed it and was sad when it ended.

I have enjoyed Maeve Binchy's books since I first read Circle of Friends. Scarlet Feather is classic Binchy, full of colorful characters and smart dialog. The story lines kept me interested for the whole 20 hours, which is long for an audio book.

Historia
Can the love of a lifetime be forever changed by one pink line? With heart, humor, and compassion, Dina Silver’s debut novel of love, loss, and family is certain to stir anyone who relishes a good laugh, can stand a good cry, and, above all, believes in the redemptive power of love. This unique, modern story gives listeners a dual perspective. Sydney, a sweet-tempered, strong-natured college senior, is young, in love with an exceptional man, and unexpectedly pregnant. Faced with a child she never planned for, she is forced to relay this news to her neurotic mother, relinquish her youth, and risk losing the love of her life. Then there’s Grace, her daughter, who believes she is a product of this great love, but grows to realize her existence is not what she assumed and is left with profound and puzzling questions about who she really is.

Very Clever Story
Revisado: 07-05-14
Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed this book, I thought the author was very clever in weaving the story lines together. It was also interesting to hear the story from two different points of view, the mother who decided to keep her child, and a child who later finds out that her "real" father is not her biological father. The dialogue was very real and made me laugh out loud many times. The narrators both did a great job.

From within come the sounds of humans, groaning, pleading, on a desperate journey across the Swiss countryside.

The best description I can give of this book, as with all Maureen Lee's books is that I am sad when I finish them. I get so caught up in the characters, that they become friends, and I hate to let them go. Ms. Hughes also does an excellent job with the narration. This book does not disappoint.

Love her books!
Revisado: 04-20-12
What other book might you compare The Shoemaker's Wife to and why?
I thought this was the final book in the Valentine series, but it is not, it is a stand alone book.
What does Annabella Sciorra and Adriana Trigiani bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
When I read the other reviews I learned that the narrator changed half way through the book. I agree with the person who said this was not a good change. By the time you hit that part of the book, it did not make sense to change narrators. While I love how Ms. Trigiani writes, I did not like her narration. She tried to put too much feeling into parts of it.
Any additional comments?
I love this author. I have read all her adult books and the character development is very good and the story line is excellent. My grandparents immigrated from Ireland, and it was intersting to listen to the discussion of the trip across the ocean and the experience at Ellis Island.
