it is something like an amalgam of Warhammer 40k, Dune and HP Lovecraft, with a pinch of Top Gun for good measure

Really a great book. It has all the feeling of a good paper and pencil tabletop RPG game, with LOTS of action. Fun as hell.
It also has an added bonus: one of the best depiction of the dwarven culture I have seen, apart from Tolkien or Dragonlance - a high target to achieve if you ask me.

Loved it! The feeling was that I was reading the log notes of a group of friends RPG game. It brought me sweet memories of my Forgotten Realms gaming time.
Lots of profanity, but the funny ones. like the ones we used on our games sessions. it made it all more credible!

A very nice and convoluted plot. At times you fear the author will not be able to tie everything up, but he stand and deliver.
It is a jumble of so many genres you get a headache. wholeheartedly enjoyable!
