Primitive
Revisado: 09-04-17
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Compared to Anne Hillerman this book is very primitive. The performance is jerky but that may be due to the writing
What could R. Allen Chappell have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Written a more smoothly developing story without the jerky move from sub plot to sub plot.
What didn’t you like about Kaipo Schwab’s performance?
Not smooth.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No. Boring
Would you ever listen to anything by Raymond L. Weil again?
No
This book has too much politics. I read Sci Fi for the battle stories. This is way too much political in-fighting.
Could you see The Star Cross being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
No

Well written and suspensful
Revisado: 01-21-16
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Nothing
If you’ve listened to books by Jack Du Brul before, how does this one compare?
It is about the same as the others. He has co written books with Clive Cussler. The formula is very familiar. Unfortunately I have become tired of that formula.
Any additional comments?
If you really like Clive Cussler you will like this book.

Definitely juvenile

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I am used to the quality of David Weber and Clive Cussler. This book is a waste of time. The story is very repetitive.
What was most disappointing about Hugh Howey’s story?
Slow moving and repetitive
What about Jennette Selig’s performance did you like?
Very good reader. Makes the story as interesting as possivle.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Not a chance.

Is there anything you would change about this book?
More description to allow the listener to follow the thread of the story.
What was most disappointing about Jay Allan’s story?
This books seems to be put together in a haphazard manner. It is difficult to follow the story. It seems to be one battle after another with no common thread. The reader's selection of voices for each character is strangely disconcerting. The voices just don't seem to fit the characters.

Historia
In Israel, a man clutching a backpack searches desperately for a boat. In Minnesota, Virgil Flowers gets a message from Lucas Davenport: You're about to get a visitor. It's an Israeli cop, and she's tailing a man who's smuggled out an extraordinary relic - a copper scroll revealing startling details about the man known as King Solomon. Wait a minute, laughs Virgil. Is this one of those Da Vinci Code deals? The secret scroll, the blockbuster revelation, the teams of murderous bad guys? Should I be boning up on my Bible verses? He looks at the cop. She's not laughing.

Colossal waste of time
Revisado: 05-19-13
What disappointed you about In the Ocean of Night?
Its reliance on some kind of odd religion. It was like being back in the 60's with people in white robes passing out tracts.
Would you ever listen to anything by Gregory Benford again?
No
What does Maxwell Caulfield bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He is an excellent reader. He draws you into the story
What character would you cut from In the Ocean of Night?
All of them
Any additional comments?
