Good. I enjoyed it.

I know lots of people didn’t like it but I’ve now listened to it several times and I enjoyed it each time. It is very different in some ways from previous episodes in this series. It is much more focused on developing relationships and how life changes then on daring-do and adventures. Which, frankly, is my cup of tea. I’ve always enjoyed the Cordelia books and the insights into her developing personality then in Miles’s adventures so maybe I might not be the same as many others.

On the whole, I recommend this, I found the subtle humor hilarious and I’ve become so invested in these characters over the last 20 (30?) years that I appreciate the view of how they are developing. Also, after feeling like Cordelia got cheated on her initial goal of having lots of children that Arel promised her, I am frankly overjoyed to see it beating fruit.

I started this kinda randomly, it was free and the summary sounded like it could be fun.

So far I’m halfway though the book and while there is nothing wrong with it, I don’t feel enough connection to the story to bother finishing it I think.

Disappointing.

I was excited to see this here on audible because so many people recommended this podcast and I couldn’t listen without buying over on Apple podcasts.

The narrator does do a very good job overall but his relentless commentary about how women get off easy in the criminal justice system and his endless complaints about activist judges just kept annoying me. There are other issues he endlessly harps on but those are the two that stand out in my mind from the episodes I listened to.

I listened to maybe 10 episodes and the annoyance just kept mounting so I’ll be moving on to other shows.

This was the first book by this author I had read and it has convinced me to read all her books as soon as they come out. I had borrowed this audiobook from the many times as I am one of the people who like rereading books, but this time when I got the urge, the library did not have it anymore! So I bought a copy.

I’m a ardent reader of Ms Wayland’s work, so I was very excited when one of them was available as an audiobook. It is a great story, and the narrator did justice to the story. I recommend it.

I enjoyed this book when it first came out, like all Ilona Andrews, but it has become a book that I reread (well, relisten) about once a year or so. I highly recommended it.

I had read this book previously, so I knew I enjoyed the story (which is well written, has an interesting plot, and characters that I liked enough to finish the book in the first place) but the performance was also done quite well.

A good story.

I had listened to this book a while ago and was not overwhelmed by it. However, after this listening, I have moved this story firmly into the "I'll listen to this one again" so I must have enjoyed it much more this time around.

I am not the biggest fan of the audio though. I liked the narrators, but it seemed like the speed was off a little bit. It seemed like it was a bit to fast on regular speed, but too slow when I switched it down to 0.75x speed. Who knows, maybe I'm just off.
