Quite a story
Revisado: 11-13-19
At the end, I was able to appreciate the beauty of every small detail woven in. Though, at times in the middle of the story the writing could feel simple. It was all part of putting you in the middle of it though - roll with it.

Historia
Greece in the age of heroes. Patroclus, an awkward young prince, has been exiled to the kingdom of Phthia to be raised in the shadow of King Peleus and his golden son, Achilles. “The best of all the Greeks”—strong, beautiful, and the child of a goddess—Achilles is everything the shamed Patroclus is not. Yet despite their differences, the boys become steadfast companions. Their bond deepens as they grow into young men and become skilled in the arts of war and medicine—much to the displeasure and the fury of Achilles’ mother, Thetis, a cruel sea goddess with a hatred of mortals.

Great story diminished only by....
Revisado: 05-17-18
A great story diminished only by a lukewarm protagonist. Riveting twista and satisfying plot developments. Our narrator was simply....just why did she do the things she did?!

Historia
It is 1930, the midst of the Great Depression. After her mysterious role in a family tragedy, passionate, strong-willed Thea Atwell, age 15, has been cast out of her Florida home, exiled to an equestrienne boarding school for Southern debutantes. High in the Blue Ridge Mountains, with its complex social strata ordered by money, beauty, and girls' friendships, the Yonahlossee Riding Camp for Girls is a far remove from the free-roaming, dreamlike childhood Thea shared with her twin brother on their family's citrus farm - a world now partially shattered.

Addictive, Shocking, Lovely

One of the few good horse books that doesn't drive a true horse girl crazy. However, it goes so much more beyond that. The performance couldn't be more perfectly executed and the story is masterfully woven.

Masterfully woven storytelling
Revisado: 03-16-18
What a perfectly woven story! The author does an astounding job placing every detail from the beginning in order to call upon it later. My jaw literally dropped a few times at her genius.

A story that hooks you
Revisado: 01-17-18
What an exceptional story!! In between listening to pieces of this great tale, I found myself turning over the narrative in my mind. This is a book that begs further consideration beyond simply reading. Though the writing hasn't been my favorite, the novel as a whole is rather good.

Enchanting!!!
Revisado: 10-19-17
I was enthralled and captivated by the story of the Oschiere witches! To see their line evolve and their enemies transform...it was mesmerizing. And the performance was fantastic!! Beautiful French accent and great voices for each character. I highly recommend this book for a good long listen.

Historia
To everyone who knows them, best friends Miel and Sam are as strange as they are inseparable. Roses grow out of Miel's wrist, and rumors say that she spilled out of a water tower when she was five. Sam is known for the moons he paints and hangs in the trees and for how little anyone knows about his life before he and his mother moved to town. But as odd as everyone considers Miel and Sam, even they stay away from the Bonner girls, four beautiful sisters rumored to be witches.

A coming of age story for today's youth
Revisado: 07-18-17
Filled with imagery and metaphors, this is a great story to examine, explore, and hopefully begin to better understand the transgender community. When the Moon Was Ours is beautiful and poetic though I think it could've been brought to life a little better by the narratirs. I did enjoy how they used both male and female voices to tell Moon and Honey's sides of the story. Definitely worth the read/listen.
