Historia
The perfect neighborhood can be the perfect place to hide… Who wouldn’t want to live in Brighton Hills? This exclusive community on the Oregon coast is the perfect mix of luxury and natural beauty. Stunning houses nestle beneath mighty Douglas firs, and lush backyards roll down to the lakefront. It’s the kind of place where neighbors look out for one another. Sometimes a little too closely…

A truly terrific listening experience!
Revisado: 10-29-24
Everything about this story and narration were exciting and satisfying! In my vast [read: many, many…] listening experiences, when I finally come across one that rings every bell, I come out of my listening-coma to write a review. (The same goes for when I hear a true lemon!)
However, as much as I hoard and adore reading [actual books] and listening [to books on tape], I am, by no means, a succinct writer myself. So, all I can say in order to pay tribute to On a Quiet Street, is to pay attention to the # of stars, select this book, and sit back for an incredible experience full of “OMGs!”, “didn’t see THAT comings!”, “Whoas!”, and, even, one or two, “Righteousnesses!”

Felt like I was there, really resonated
Revisado: 03-23-24
Gripping, deeply emotional, terrifying, crushingly sad, humorous, horrifying, tension filled, realistic characters. I could almost see, smell, and feel all the places and situations characters landed. Maybe I was in just the right mindset, but The Women is now in the top 5 of favorite books on tape, so much so that I’m making time (short in demand!) to actually read the book itself. Love your stories, Kristen Hannah and THANK YOU for sharing your gift and realizing the right time to write it.

He was the talented bad boy everyone wanted. I was the irrelevant geek everyone hated. He was the sun...drawing all of us in. I was a black hole...taking up space. He was destined to be a star. I was destined to remain an insignificant no one. Until he made me believe I was special...and then he destroyed me. I never thought I'd see Phoenix Walker again after he broke my heart, but fate had other plans. One tour. Eight weeks. Forty shows. Countless opportunities to make him pay. The world thought he was a god...but I know the truth.

Should be retitled: The Undecided
Revisado: 11-03-23
The Storyline: I found the story SLOW-moving and very drawn out, repeating over and over revelations that were obvious. I also found the sex scenes over the top and reaching. Overall, the story had a good basic theme, but wasn’t well written (no surprises, no building of anticipation!)
The delivery: Didn’t really care for Erin Mallon’s delivery, but this may just be my opinion. I found her found her voice whiny and unemotional, as if she was bored and hesitant to exclaim (even during sex!) Teddy Hamilton was better but not very sexy sounding, unsupportive of the “bad boy” image.
I don’t really feel I got my “credit’s-worth”. Yawn

The bride is a doll. The groom is the perfect gentleman. But the rest of the wedding party? They're the stuff of nightmares. Rich? Check. Vapid? Double check. Entitled? Not enough checks in the world. And the best man? More like the worst man. But maid of honor Franchesca takes her duties seriously. Kidnapped groom? She's got this. Rude attendees? You just watch her handle them. So a best man with a big attitude and an even bigger...checkbook? Yeah, there's no way she's going to let that pretentious, judgmental jackhole ruin her best friend's wedding. No matter how sexy he is.

A terrific story!
Revisado: 01-08-23
Thoroughly enjoyed this story! It’s funny, sweet, realistic and best of all, long enough to get completely familiar with the characters and invested with their story. I find Ms. Score’s writing bold and refreshing and she has quickly become one of my new favorite authors!

Long enough to really get inyo
Revisado: 01-06-23
Enjoys this one a lot and a new author to explore as well. I liked the long length because it wasn’t rushed or cut off at the end. Characters were realistic and likable. Just enough sex without going over the top ;).
Will look for more from Lucy Score!

Enjoying the view from the mountain she has just climbed, Reece Gilmore sees a woman being attacked. But when authorities comb the area, they find nothing - no signs of struggle. No freshly turned earth. Not even a tire track. No one in town seems to believe Reece, except Brody, a gruff loner.

My favorite “go to” audiobook
Revisado: 12-24-22
This has to be my favorite “go to” audiobook in my rather large collection. The storyline is twisty, sweet, romantic, as well as a bit “mental”. Typical of Nora Roberts, there are many layers, so I get a little more from it every time I listen (which is about every 6-9 months while driving around, gardening, folding laundry, etc.)
Joyce Bean does an excellent job at individualizing the characters and both male and female voices are realistic.
Highly recommend listening and hope you enjoy this one too!

Historia
Buckhead isn’t a place you live, it’s a place you survive. And that applies even to the wealthy housewives that have it all. Fancy cars, designer clothes, and daily salon appointments aren’t nearly enough to keep them fulfilled and happy. Because in this town, privilege and opulence go hand in hand with betrayal and revenge. Jenny, the owner of Glow, an exclusive membership-only beauty salon, knows that better than anyone, because she knows everything about these housewives—down to each individual strand of hair.

Amber Patterson is fed up. She's tired of being a nobody: a plain, invisible woman who blends into the background. She deserves more - a life of money and power like the one blond-haired, blue-eyed goddess Daphne Parrish takes for granted. To everyone in the exclusive town of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut, Daphne - a socialite and philanthropist - and her real-estate mogul husband, Jackson, are a couple straight out of a fairy tale. Amber's envy could eat her alive...if she didn't have a plan.

Can’t believe anyone would NOT like it!
Revisado: 10-09-22
I’m a great fan of all the twists and turns of a well thought out time travel story! This one hits the mark on so many levels: crime investigation, suspense, family, love. Truly enjoyed it and immediately filed it as a Favorite in my Collections folder! Hard to believe anyone wouldn’t like it, but it does involve close attention (had to rewind a few times) and, after all, my husband hates anything with a time travel scenario!
Definitely worth a credit and a great listen while doing housework. Narrator is a new favorite too!
P. S. Don’t let the comments about politics put you off! Just an itsy-bitsy part of the book. I just ignored it in the book as I ignore it in real life!

So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.
