Historia
Jacinda Ardern: Leading with Empathy carefully explores the influences that have shaped Ardern. Peace activist and journalist Supriya Vani and writer Carl A. Harte build their narrative through Vani's exclusive interviews with Ardern, as well as the prime minister's public statements and speeches and the words of those who know her. We visit the places, meet the people and understand the events that propelled the daughter of a small-town Mormon policeman to become a social democrat, a passionate Labour Party politician and a modern leader admired for her empathy and courage.

Inspiring leader
Revisado: 11-19-22
Her story is so inspiring. I love the example she set with her morals and principles, and hope her integrity - being true to what she believes - is alive and unapologetically out there. I want to be more like her. She must have had pretty amazing parents that developed great morality and a strong value system. Loved the book!!!!

Extremely helpful and actionable
Revisado: 05-05-22
The author described my family’s dynamics. Extremely insightful and very clear and actionable suggestions for navigating this life-long condition. Thank you. I wish I would have had this book when my daughter was a young teenager - or even younger. Looking back, I can see that as a young child she already was displaying many BPD traits. Thank you.

Historia
Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, Tara Westover was seventeen the first time she set foot in a classroom. Her family was so isolated from mainstream society that there was no one to ensure the children received an education, and no one to intervene when one of Tara’s older brothers became violent. When another brother got himself into college, Tara decided to try a new kind of life. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, taking her over oceans and across continents, to Harvard and to Cambridge University.

A gifted and enthralling account of real life. Not all of us have grown in Buck Mountain, but we all have loved other”s interpretation of what’s right: our parents, our spouses, our friends, our instructors. It’s our responsibility to define our selves and lives. So incredibly compelling and sadly true to so many children. Thank you!

Historia
"Anger is a signal and one worth listening to," writes Dr. Harriet Lerner in her renowned classic that has transformed the lives of millions. While anger deserves our attention and respect, women still learn to silence our anger, to deny it entirely, or to vent it in a way that leaves us feeling helpless and powerless. In this engaging and eminently wise book, Dr. Lerner teaches both women and men to identify the true sources of anger and to use it as a powerful vehicle for creating lasting change.

Paradigm shift
Revisado: 04-11-22
Wow - this is my second time through this book. The first time, I read the hard copy - about 5 years ago - and the concepts and stories made a lot of sense and resonated with me, but because of my personal situation in these last 5 years, I didn’t have the emotional wherewithal to actually implement its teachings. I’m in a better place now, and so thankful I could listen AND read it at the same time. I’m in my 60s so it takes me a while to change life-long-maladaptive patterns, but you can bet this is going to make a difference in the rest of my life. I’ll be re-reading this book again and again until I can see that I’m practicing these principles as second Nature. I’m at a cross roads in one of my personal relationships, and following these principles will be my last resort to determine in which direction to go. Thank you Ms. Lerner!!!! It’s too bad I didn’t know about this book when I was parenting my daughters. Every school should make this book a mandatory reading for boys and girls - especially girls and their mothers (and fathers too). Life changer. Game changer for all relationships. Thank you.

We already rely on science to tell us what to eat, when to exercise, and how long to sleep. Why not use science to help us improve our relationships? In this revolutionary book, psychiatrist and neuroscientist Dr. Amir Levine and Rachel Heller scientifically explain why some people seem to navigate relationships effortlessly, while others struggle.

I didn’t know what I didn’t know
Revisado: 11-18-20
This book helped me recognize many of the behaviors that I “go to” in relationships, and I must admit that these behaviors haven’t been helpful - on the contrary - they are described as “protest behaviors” in this book. The best part? Realizing that my emotional needs and/or attachment style aren’t either good or bad. They “just are.” I wish I would have read this book 40 years ago! It would have saved me a lot of discomfort. I will share this book with each of my children because most likely, I couldn’t teach them nor role model what I didn’t know I didn’t know. Thank you!
