Historia
With The Alloy of Law, Brandon Sanderson surprised listeners with a New York Times best-selling spinoff of his Mistborn audiobooks, set after the action of the trilogy, in a period corresponding to late 19th-century America. The trilogy's heroes are now figures of myth and legend, even objects of religious veneration. They are succeeded by wonderful new characters, chief among them Waxillium Ladrian, known as Wax, hereditary lord of House Ladrian.

Emotional Rollercoaster of Action
Revisado: 01-22-25
I have yet to read a single cosmic book that is not totally captivating and consumes all of my time and mental capacity, even when not listening to the book. Though this so far is not my favorite series, having read the rest of the series of the Cosmere, there are A LOT over strings connecting throughout the rest that just has me in awe and wonder.of
Though I feel like the plot twist of this book seemed a little bit of a stretch, at first… As always, Mr. Sanderson comes in, absolutely clutch with the best tie ends and reasonings for the plot twist. I really love how this book brought in the aspect of past characters from the first Element series, and how well and seamless they all tighten together, though they are not extremely relevant at this time. Excited to get on and read book 3 of the wax and Wayne series! (Just like how I listened to this book via audio I left this review via audio… Please excuse any typos or grammar errors. Mr. Sanderson would probably be appalled lol)

Ever since Callie - the Vatican's rookie monster hunter - killed a demon a few weeks ago, Kansas City's been eerily quiet. But she soon learns it's just the calm before the storm. Because werewolves begin abducting young women in Kansas City, and a new church opens its doors, pronouncing death to all idols, including these "make-believe" monsters and wizards. But when one of their congregation is disemboweled by a monster on the steps of the church with the phrase God is dead painted in blood, someone in the church decides to take a lesson from the Salem Witch Trials.... And the police seem to be helping.

Amazing Plot Twists and Character Development
Revisado: 06-14-22
Current events, modern tech, magic, angels, mythology, and Nate Temple all tied in to boot!? This is an amazing support short series for the Templeverse series. Kali is one hell of a woman on a mission to do what’s right. Although you can tell that the author isn’t shy to emphasize the beauty of a female character (quite frequently) it’s really centered around self improvement and self betterment from a woman’s perspective. Well done.

Great Mythical Story Telling
Revisado: 03-30-22
So, here’s the thing. The author and voice actor are amazing. And this is only book 3 of like a 34 book series. And just based on the improvements between book one and this one, I’m extremely excited to listen to the rest. After having had been told by your friend that this book is like a comedic action adventure story, filled with mythological theology and history, hearing the first book had me a bit shook. It wasn’t what I was expecting. The voice actor was a Little bit too intense for what I thought the book series was going to be. Instead of it being a cheesy rich snob, with tons of powers it now comes off as a vindictive a-hole that’s really a crybaby and lots of powers and wealth just handed to him left and right. Currently doesn’t sound like he’s ever had to work for anything.
However, that was in book one and having now been reading through book 3 (listening) Both the author and the voice actor have improved a ton. Looking forward to listen to the rest.

Historia
For thousands of years, there has been a cycle: a Demon King rises and conquers, and a Hero is reborn a hundred years later to defeat him. Each time, civilizations are ground to dust beneath the Demon King's hordes, but humanity has remained secure in the belief that a Hero of legend will always save them. There's just one slight problem. It's only been 23 years since the Demon King's latest rise, and this time, he's already conquered more than half the world. If humanity simply waits for the Hero's return, there may be no world left for him to save.

Not meant for adults
Revisado: 06-12-20
All in all the story telling was rushed and not great. They skips events weeks at a time and don’t go into details of character progression. The first chapter almost skips all of it. Then the last 2 chapters and epilogue just..... rushed a close. I mean I guess I shouldn’t have had any higher standards from a 5 hour book, but I mean..... it’s probably great for a 12 year old to read. Not worth my time and I o my finished it after chapter 2 because I had already bought the book. The narrators were amazing, but the story was just bad.
