Historia
Welcome to Glacier Country! Luthor Devlin and his ranch hands were out tracking 20th-century rustlers when they stepped into a time warp! There on the jagged cliffs was a woolly mammoth, a sabre-toothed tiger, and a tawny, near-naked savage. She was a primal fantasy come true - that left him stunned!

MY OPINION COUNTS!!!!
Revisado: 11-18-12
Just finished listening to the audio book Dare The Devil. I picked it from the sample narration I heard, and the title of the book was tantalizing. My take on this modern day BOY MEETS HIS MATCH IN GIRL, was a great listen all around. If a story doesn't go the way you expect it, I consider that to be a good thing. To be predictable is boring. I kind of didn't get the turn on with the big mustache and hairy chest however, never met a girl that liked that either (maybe in the 80's this was the 'in' thing), but I fell in love with Cam Stirling. Most ladies who love to compete with men, are also loud about it. Cam played down her athletic abilities, her smarts and beauty, like they weren't anything to brag about.
Thor's bad attitude rubbed me the wrong way. He's got the hottest girl crazy about him, she steps up to the plate to take care of business, and rather than being appreciative about it or just plain in awe of her amazing talents, Thor seems to get a wedgy every time his woman is capable. It would have been cool if he was more a man about her being a capable woman.
The author stayed focused on the main storyline, without too many sub-plots, which I consider a smart choice to keep your listeners engaged in a strong story flow and not get lost in all these unnecessary side stories.
Supporting characters were really well done by the narrators - the movie star Bridgette and the directors back and forth, Nate was real funny, the rowdy crew that followed Cam around like she was a mother hen who kept them all in line, throwing popcorn at her when she scolded them and so many descriptive nuances that made it a more 'vivid' listen.
All in all, the story is enjoyable and well written with a different slant to your typical adventure-romance theme, the narration by Destiny Landon and Lee James was excellent and characters memorable.

Oliver Wyman reads The Speakeasy Guide and captures the rich atmosphere and enduring cultural influence of the roaring ‘20s. While the anecdote about Audible staffers stumbling out of an anonymous casino might be in doubt, one thing’s for sure – this fun listen is the bee’s knees.

WYMAN IS AMAZING!!
Revisado: 09-23-12
What made the experience of listening to Boardwalk Empire Free Bonus Material the most enjoyable?
I recently listened to Lair of the White Worm, narrated by Oliver Wyman, which is what brought me to Audible and I found he has over 100 books narrated under his name, at which time I perused some newer authors and narrators that sounded pretty awesome. I loved Wymans "dated" narration style as he explains the meanings of phrases used in its era and how these slangs are used in our generation. He brings the old timer to the stage, which makes this audio more authentic and fun to listen to, like grandpa or your great uncle reliving the way it used to be!
Who was your favorite character and why?
the narrator himself
What does Oliver Wyman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
he sounded as he he lived back in that time and was sharing his personal experience
What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?
how language has a 'style' all its own in every generation
