Historia
Sam has survived months alone at the end of the world–a world destroyed not only by the undead, but those left who are strong enough to do what is necessary to survive. The city has become too dangerous with the looming threat of ex-soldiers that destroy everything in their path. After a chance encounter with them leaves Sam on their hit-list, she flees the city with help from the redneck brothers that saved her. Together with a timid girl rescued from the soldiers, they set out for an island near her hometown–a hopeful refuge from the broken world around them.

Good start to the story, bad narration.
Revisado: 04-14-25
I am halfway thru the book, and really getting into the story. However, maybe with more practice or if narrator had read the story first before narrating; I don’t know. With her narrative the MFC sounds like a 16 year old with a lisp. The MFC sound like 16 year old boys going thru puberty. Sometimes it sounds like narrator is speaking into tin can, other times thru foam - idk how to describe.
I can’t read books anymore due to eye sight, so have been waiting for this book to become available on audible. Now, I am hoping I can finish the book on audible, as it is a good start to what could be a good story. Either way, definitely recommend the book - if you can read it. No offense to narrator, but the mispronouncing of words and drawn out when not appropriate, along with the rush thru other parts, really disrupts the readers ability to imagine what is going on. More practice, replaying and listening, and enunciating words, would benefit the narrator. Like really, listen to what you just recorded, you would understand how bad it is.

Historia
Wren has never stolen a life, but that doesn’t stop her from believing her darkness makes her a walking nightmare. Harboring a power so lethal, unpredictable, and entirely forbidden by kingdom law, Wren’s spent her whole life hiding what she is—who she is. A bloodwitch. Meanwhile, a war is looming, and Wren’s feral magic may be the only thing that can stop the uprising from destroying the kingdom, her home, and everyone that stands in their way.

Slow down speed to 1.0
Revisado: 05-14-24
Usually I increase speed to 1.4 to 1.75, before starting (if you also do this) decrease speed to norm and pay attention…a lot of info in 1st 2 chapters and the female narrator gets better…otherwise I really liked this, definitely worth it and I am super picky.

Historia
Everyone expected Violet Sorrengail to die during her first year at Basgiath War College-Violet included. But Threshing was only the first impossible test meant to weed out the weak-willed, the unworthy, and the unlucky. Now the real training begins, and Violet’s already wondering how she’ll get through. It’s not just that it’s grueling and maliciously brutal, or even that it’s designed to stretch the riders’ capacity for pain beyond endurance. It’s the new vice commandant, who’s made it his personal mission to teach Violet exactly how powerless she is–unless she betrays the man she loves.

This one will make you feel
Revisado: 11-10-23
If it gets a little slow, it’s only for a second…stay the course, you won’t regret it…Narrator was amazing! Hoping the third is a dual POV 50/50…as they both fit so well…loved it 100%…

it was one of the sexiest fu€# scenes I have ever read…
Revisado: 10-26-23
At 5 hours and 50 mins, the scene was so hot, so exquisite, a vibrantly detailed series of mental pictures playing on a reel in my brain…I need me a “Butcher” real bad like…storyline was really good too. I loved Butcher and Blackbird, and as much as it might be a dark read, it was and it wasn’t…and the narration was so on point…Joe Arden and that Irish accent and the emotion he put into the story line at times is what tore me up and sold me on the story all over again…

Historia
Joey is dead. His head was delivered to me in a box, wrapped with a bow and an ominous card tucked inside. One of the biggest threats has been removed from the board but it hasn’t made us any safer. The Jackal has teamed up with the notorious sadistic killer Joseph Beaumont Sr. to take my family out, sure that we’re responsible for the death of his favored child. The body count is only getting higher. Can I get us all through graduation alive? And who the hell is sending me heads in boxes?

Historia
Devin and Ayden were my best friends. We were practically joined at the hip since age two. When we were kids, we thought we were invincible, inseparable, that nothing or no one could come between us. But we were wrong. Everything turned to crap our senior year of high school. Devin was turning into a clone of his deadbeat lowlife father - fighting, getting wasted, and screwing his way through every girl in town. I'd been hiding a secret crush on him for years.

Female narrator has forced me to stop reading
Revisado: 01-30-20
The female narrator has killed this book for me...really want to read it, but reading books is no longer an option for me, can only do audible or spoken...very disappointed...seems like it would be a great story, but the female narrator’s voice is too fast, too robotic and too dramatic at the same time, so turned off and could only hold out till the 2nd chapter...pissed.
