excellent

This was a wonderful book. It's main characters are soldiers during WWII, just on opposite sides. This book to me is all about finding love where you least expect it and how we should always forgive others because that is what God does for us. Highly recommended

Historia
Timothy Carrier, having a beer after work at his friend's tavern, enjoys drawing eccentric customers into amusing conversations. But the jittery man who sits next to him tonight has mistaken Tim for someone very different and passes to him a manila envelope full of cash. "Ten thousand now. You get the rest when she's gone."

good but not his best
Revisado: 07-30-07
This audiobook was good but not great like some of his others. You did hate the "bad guy" because he was so disturbed. I thought the ending was great and had me listening at all times to see what happened. I would definitely recommend listening to it but it is not one that I will listen to again.

Historia
Meet Miriam Elizabeth Swanson, in a full-blown snit, buoyed by a fabulous cast who run the gamut from insufferable to wonderful. Miriam spins out from the revolving door of her postured life as a Manhattan quasi-socialite while she thirsts - no, starves - for recognition. How did she become what she hates the most and what does she endure to realize it? And where are the answers? It takes a few spins, dips, and one spectacular fall before Miriam gets her head on straight.

If you like Dorothea Benton Frank's books, you will love this one also. She has her usual types of characters; the gay man who is her best friend, kids who aren't too close to her, etc. This is an excellent story of a woman finding herself and becoming comfortable with who she really is. Narrator is also excellent. This is one that you should get. If you like her others, you will like this one.

Historia
It was 1895 and time for a change, or so Rebecca thought. For 13 years Rebecca Rice had suffocated under the social restraints of widowhood, soaking up the leftovers of other people's lives like a sponge. She can't remember a time in her life when she didn't do exactly what was expected of her, until now. Armed with a knowledge of nursing and faith healing that she learned from a visiting missionary group, she heads for the hill country of southeastern Oklahoma, Indian Territory, to share her new vocation.

This is one of the most wonderful books that I have ever listened to. Rebecca goes against what her family wants her to do and does what she knows God wants her to do and she is greatly blessed by it. This is her life story of her life in the Appalachian mountains. It tells of the hard times that she had with the "folk that live there." This is a story that I wish was longer. A great blessing.

great story
Revisado: 02-18-07
This is a very good story BUT it should not be in the religious/inspirational section because it contains ALOT of curse words. It does not contain as much as some books, but if you want an inspirational book, as I did, you do not want words like this in it. The story could have been so much better without them. I understand that because of the story line (soldiers in vietnam) that some people feel that this is needed to make the story realistic but to me, it just makes the story weaker. Great book but bad language.
