Listening to this book was hard. Shining the light into so many dark corners of my personality. It was also a gift, to hear that I am not alone or crazy. If your childhood was robbed, this book gently hands it back to you. I had to listen to multiple sections multiple times as if I was hearing a new language, drinking in the authors words like cold, sour lemonade on a hot summer day.
Being understood is not something a daughter of a narcissistic mother realized growing up, this book is a great first step to feeling it now, in this moment. None of it was ever my fault, I am letting go of the shame and pain. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you 🙏!

You know the book is magic when, as the end nears you feel your heart wilt. Like, days before a friend moves away.
The author sketches the struggles and pain the lessons and the love with such beauty you are transported into the pages, into her life.
Smart and carefully crafted this memoir flows like slow, molten lava.
As a warrior survivor of CPTSD I cried, laughed and nodded throughout. This book weaves a rainbow path of hope that, we are so much more than our injured brain. Thank you Stephanie Foo for sharing your journey, it promises to help so many like us❣️

I feel the insight and tone of the book was lost on the monotone, substance lacking narrator’s voice.
It often felt like I was listening to a text book on metallurgy vs. a book about emotions and high sensitivity.
Now I need to just buy the book, so I garner all the rich lessons it holds.
Whoever chose this narrator- EPIC FAIL! You owe the author an apology!
