Historia
In Age of Myth, fantasy master Michael J. Sullivan launched audiences on an epic journey of magic and adventure, heroism and betrayal, love and loss. Now the thrilling saga continues as the human uprising is threatened by powerful enemies from without—and bitter rivalries from within. Raithe, the God Killer, may have started the rebellion by killing a Fhrey, but long-standing enmities dividing the Rhunes make it all but impossible to unite against the common foe. And even if the clans can join forces, how will they defeat an enemy whose magical prowess renders them indistinguishable from gods?

WELL WORTH THE WAIT ! ! !
Revisado: 08-01-17
Love my excursions into Elan and beyond. This story did not disappoint. It touched upon so many points that are part of the Chronicles and Revelations series that it was filled with those "a-ha" moments that felt like visiting old friends. The story is wonderfully consistent and I cant' say enough about the performance of Tim Gerard Reynolds. Truly looking forward to my next opportunity to return to this cast of characters.
After reading this story, I would hope that at some point, Mr. Sullivan has the opportunity to actually develop "The Book of Bryn (sp)" for us to read. I absolutely love the quotes from this character to begin chapters.

And even if the clans can join forces, how will they defeat an enemy whose magical prowess renders them indistinguishable from gods? The answer lies across the sea in a faraway land populated by a reclusive and dour race who feel nothing but disdain for both Fhrey and mankind.

Historia
Destined to become a classic of adventure literature, The Last Season examines the extraordinary life of legendary backcountry ranger Randy Morgenson and his mysterious disappearance in California's unforgiving Sierra Nevada - mountains as perilous as they are beautiful. Eric Blehm's masterful work is a gripping detective story interwoven with the riveting biography of a complicated, original, and wholly fascinating man.

Truth is always stranger than fiction.
Revisado: 05-14-17
It would be very easy to focus on the sections of this book that deal with the disappearance of Randy Morgenson and the search that ensued. However, the story of Randy's life is more incredible and reaffirming than any character in fiction I have encountered. I have lived in Fresno, CA for over fifty years and consider Yosemite, Sequoia, and Kings Canyon National Parks great areas to temporarily disappear and reemerge with a new found love for life. To hear the entries in Randy's Ranger Logs and Journals that focus on the intimacy he felt while in the back country is a welcome confirmation of what I have felt on many day trips, let alone multiple day backpacking trips.
If you are familiar the with history of these National Parks, the topics covered in this book give you more of an insider perspective of the politics and struggles that were part of the NPS during this time period.. When you realize who Randy's father was, the menagerie of the who's who Randy was exposed to in early life, and the contributions Randy made to the experiences of thousands of park visitors, you have to ask why his story was not told sooner.
I do not very often advocate for books to become films. However, this is the type of character I think most actors wait a lifetime to portray. Whatever inspired Eric Blehm to research and share the life of this amazing man is greatly appreciated.

Historia
Since time immemorial, humans have worshipped the gods they call Fhrey, truly a race apart: invincible in battle, masters of magic, and seemingly immortal. But when a god falls to a human blade, the balance of power between humans and those they thought were gods changes forever. Now only a few stand between humankind and annihilation: Raithe, reluctant to embrace his destiny as the God Killer. Suri, a young seer burdened by signs of impending doom. And Persephone, who must overcome personal tragedy to lead her people.

I ONLY BLAME MYSELF.
Revisado: 07-15-16
After reading the Sullivan's previous works regarding the empire, it was wonderful to step back and see where everything was put in motion. I have found myself addicted to this fantasy realm as the storytelling is full of twists, strong heroes and heroines, sympathetic characters, and an unmatched ability to keep the reader wanting more.
According to Sullivan, he has already finished this set of books with what he states is enough material for four more books.
I blame myself for listening to this book before the other books were released. Like binge watching certain television programs, I tend to binge listen to good stories that spread out over several books. In this case, I will not be able to do so. Next book isn't scheduled for release until Summer 2017. If I was able to put it on my pre-order list today, I would.
Sullivan's writing coupled with Reynolds' performance easily makes this a must listen.

BREAK THE CHAINS
Revisado: 07-15-16
This final segment of this trilogy was masterful. Pierce Brown weaved so many different threads from various story lines together in what appeared to be and effortless manner. You find yourself unable to put the book down because you know you are getting closer to finding out the various resolutions to each of the characters you have grown close to through the hours of a riveting performance by Tim Gerard Reynolds.
It is my sincere hope that Pierce Brown is able to bring us back into this world in future novels.

CAN'T WAIT TO START BOOK 3
Revisado: 07-10-16
Once again, the performance by Tim Gerard Reynolds alone makes this a must listen. However, the author has once again woven a story that is very difficult to put down. I personally love that this futuristic society has such an appreciation for the literature we consider to be classics today. References to Milton and Homer, along with references to all the Roman gods just makes me appreciate the world in which his characters live. The manner in which book 2 ended, makes me want to begin book 3 immediately.

85 HOURS INVESTED - WORTH EVERY MINUTE
Revisado: 06-01-16
Just finished book three of the Mistborn series. After 85 hours of listening, I wanted more. I would highly recommend that you listen to books 1 and 2 before reading this book. Brandon Sanderson hooked me with his characters and the time he took to develop them. Michael Kramer's performance was a four star effort.
