have the writers ever been on a plane?

So it'd be nitpicky if a quarter of the book didn't take place on the aircraft. if you've ever been on an aircraft you know the fights described would be impossible on large jumbo jets much less a small one. suspension of disbelief is expected, but this is a real detail anyone can look up and see.
Two characters described as the largest many have ever seen throwing blows in a space where a 6 foot man couldn't stand up right in.

Great stories awful narration

This book is a huge letdown. It's filled with amazing stories but the narrator is just underwhelming. He makes no attempt to speak with any emotion, it feels more like he's reciting a science textbook.

just really underwhelming book. An evil for the sake of being evil mad scientist. Infighting with characters that previously had no problems/interaction before. New super bad virus that can't be fought. Basically a checklist for bad scifi fanfiction.

It has everything and Arisen needs but a purpose. Having just finished it I can barley give a recap much less name a character. The story just rushes through then that's it's. No suspense, no payoff, just goodnight.

The story really loses any sense of suspense when the main character is basically the most powerful being in existence. No matter what the struggle he can solve it in seconds.

Magic Russian supersoldiers

So time has not been kind to this series' love of the myth of the Soviet super soldiers. However the authors want to have their cake and eat it to. Giving out action movie scenarios and then having to nerve to criticize Hollywood movies as being unrealistic. I'm not sure where the series could have gone to keep things interesting. Though magic Russians that are superior in every possible way, only to be defeated by deus ex machina. That's just lazy writing.

Good story though technically inaccurate.

it's a good story though it will drag on as they have they set up the world and such.

However if you're even somewhat of a firearm enthusiast it's just frustratingly inaccurate. it's understandable for those characters with minimal or no gun experience, however the "expert" is embarrassingly uninformed.

What disappointed you about Ex-Purgatory?

The story is just long and boring, most of it was spent wishing that it would get better or end sooner. Nothing like wanting a zombie story and getting a boring slice of life narrative for half the book.

Would you ever listen to anything by Peter Clines again?

Yes I love the series and every author has a bad book, however if the next book is just as bad I am done.

What character would you cut from Ex-Purgatory?

The villain, I don't want to ruin it and spoil for any hopeful reader. They were boring and it was fairly predictable to spite the "twist" Clines tried.
