Historia
Nora Stephens' life is books—she’s read them all—and she is not that type of heroine. Not the plucky one, not the laidback dream girl, and especially not the sweetheart. In fact, the only people Nora is a heroine for are her clients, for whom she lands enormous deals as a cutthroat literary agent, and her beloved little sister Libby.

Great read anytime of the year!
Revisado: 06-01-22
This is a fun story the often made me laugh out loud. Enjoyed learning about the role of the editor and agent in the book writing process.
Sister relationship was believable and poignant.
I listened to the book. The “reader’s” ability to create a special voice for each character (especially Nora, Charlie and Libby) enhanced the authors description to create a clear picture of each.

Historia
At 36, Hope McKenna-Smith is no stranger to bad news. She lost her mother to cancer, her husband left her for a 22-year-old, and her bank account is nearly depleted. Now, Hope’s beloved French-born grandmother Mamie, who wowed the Cape with her fabulous pastries for more than 50 years, is drifting away into a haze of Alzheimer’s. But in a rare moment of clarity, Mamie realizes that unless she tells Hope about the past, the secrets she has held on to for so many years will soon be lost forever. Arming her with a scrawled list of names, she sends Hope to France.

Story was ok…narrator can’t do accents
Revisado: 04-23-22
This story lacked for me because of the narrator’s often sing song voice that lacked emotion, French accent that sounded Asian an a 93 year old man sounding like a 30 year old.
A readers ability to change from male to female old to young is hard but helps the listener “see” them. This presentation did not do that.

Delightful look at romance and life after 60
Revisado: 03-18-22
After a little slow start, the perception of what you think life is for gals over 60 is completely dispelled. This book made me laugh out loud and had delightful turns.
The performer did a fabulous job changing voices and bringing the characters to life.
Enjoyed this book very much.

Historia
Gracie Reed is doing just fine. Sure, she was fired by her overly “friendly” boss, and yes, she still hasn’t gotten her mother into the nursing home of their dreams, but she’s healthy, she’s (somewhat) happy, and she’s (mostly) holding it all together. But when a mysterious SUV pulls up beside her, revealing Chinese cinema's golden couple Wei Fangli and Sam Yao, Gracie’s world is turned on its head. The famous actress has a proposition: Due to their uncanny resemblance, Fangli wants Gracie to be her stand-in.

Light reading with some humor
Revisado: 03-01-22
Fun light story that seemed to end in a hurry after a great deal of time to develop the characters. Perfect for listening when working out.

Historia
As a third-year PhD candidate, Olive Smith doesn't believe in lasting romantic relationships—but her best friend does, and that's what got her into this situation. Convincing Anh that Olive is dating and well on her way to a happily ever after was always going to take more than hand-wavy Jedi mind tricks: Scientists require proof. So, like any self-respecting biologist, Olive panics and kisses the first man she sees.

Delightful with a strong message supporting women
Revisado: 01-28-22
This book seemed like a true mindless beach read initially that evolved into a romantic love story that supports women in a STEM career.
Agree with other reviews regarding (spoiler alert) the steamy chapter. Wow.
I listened to story on Audible but only when I walked. Walked at least an extra 2-3 miles some days because I couldn’t stop listening.

Great story of survival
Revisado: 12-04-21
This is my second Cathy Lamb story. The 2 I've read have a horrible seedy life or terrible situations her very creative characters experience. Great deal of humor. Ms. Lamb's writing is different than anyone I have read before. Interesting to learn about NW coast living. I look forward to reading more of her books.

Historia
Not only do Southerners talk slowly, but sometimes the whole language is hard to understand. No one realizes that more than Memphis belle Leelee Satterfield. Watching her tackle life and love in Vermont was only the tip of the iceberg when it came to antics, charades, mischief, and romance. Now that she’s back in Memphis, and starting a new relationship with Peter, the Yankee chef from her New England inn, you’d think she’d sit back and enjoy her newly crafted life back home in Dixie. But that just wouldn’t be as much fun.

Sweet story, character voices poor
Revisado: 09-01-21
Having listened to boom 1 & 2, disappointed reader changed. Reader/authors voice good but other than Riley, other voices sounded a version of Riley. Peter was the worse with a lisp. If that was her idea of an east coast accent, missed it by a mile.
Nice ending. I love Memphis and enjoyed all the references.
