A much needed look at American Evangelicals

Tim Alberta's new book was on par for his outstanding efforts to be provide thorough and thoughtful investigative journalism, all the while being transparent about where his own Christian beliefs conflict with the current political/cultural interpretations being trumpeted by the Christian Nationalists and others on the far right extremes.
He calls out the MAGA-based Evangelicals according to the words and actions they have pubically and privately demonstrated again and again...questioning them in interview after interview, about the idolatry that is now the worship and almost defecation of Donald Trump.
He is equally diligent in his search for those Christian pastors and organizations, that may have stumbled in the MAGA onslaught, but have begun to emerge with demonstratably stronger faith in their own commitment to stay true to the real teachings of Jesus Christ. This book gave me hope that not all Evangelicals are arrogant xenophobes.

The humanization of the media characcature.

Never much of a celebrity watcher, never the less, I found myself intrigued by the interviews and the Netflix special. So what if they are using the challenges of his inherited celebrity to generate an income?
Deeper was the wholly understandable tale of a childhood tragedy and unresolved grief which led to his PTSD, a condition that all the money in the world can't really cure.
Regardless of objective truth, Harry's story came through as heartfelt and genuine, albeit with a heavily weighted portion of bitterness.
For anyone who has come from a family where silence was used to hide a multitude of closeted skeletons, sins, and other secrets, such that deeply ingrained emotional dysfunction allowed the media's rampant gaslighting to become the family coping strategy, Harry's story feels all too similar to our own.

Interesting story concept

Overall, I found the concept intriguing enough for the "reincarnation" theme. the plot schemes were sometimes predictable but there were a few nice twists, especially toward the end.

The nature of the theme allowed for the telling of multiple stories nested within the main story timeline, which made for some careful crafting of mixed POV. The author accomplished this feat well enough.

My only criticism pertains to the love story scenes, even though they were set in "other times and places". Here, I felt like the characters' actions and dialogues were often redundant, or simply cliche, i.e., "he brought her hand to his heart..." used several times...

The conflict/attraction flip flop seem to turn on unexplained whims, which made the principal characters feel a bit too melodramatic for my tastes.

But the idea that there are ancient mysteries and other timelines is always an intriguing theme for me and she plots this story out to a logical conclusion pretty well. Worth the read and I would probably read a sequel.

The author tells a compelling story of the war on drugs, it's history and tragic consequences, and makes a reports on the undeniable reasons this war needs to be ended.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Synchronicity Highway to be better than the print version?

Haven't seen the print version but found the audiobook facinating enough.

This book is a chronicle of synchronicities and other paranormal phenomenom that are interesting if you are open-minded enough to believe that in the quantum view of the world anything is possible.

What about Kevin Pierce’s performance did you like?

Keven Pierce kept a steady pace throughout the book.
