Historia
The Courage to Be Disliked, already an enormous best seller in Asia with more than 3.5 million copies sold, demonstrates how to unlock the power within yourself to be the person you truly want to be. Using the theories of Alfred Adler, one of the three giants of 20th-century psychology, The Courage to Be Disliked follows an illuminating conversation between a philosopher and a young man. The philosopher explains to his pupil how each of us is able to determine our own life, free from the shackles of past experiences, doubts, and the expectations of others.

Cold calling is painful and uncomfortable for every single salesperson on Earth. The average seller makes a couple dials, hits 6 voicemails, and gives up the moment a prospect hits them with a nasty objection. But every time you decide to pick up the phone in spite of the suck, you separate yourself from the folks who quit. That's when you get ahead on the leaderboard. Cold calling sucks. And that's why it works. While most books are a 400-page exercise in academia, we have 4 promises to make this the most actionable sales book you've ever heard of.

Historia
Anyone who struggles with overeating knows what it’s like to feel out of control—and to feel the guilt attached to it. While ordinary anxiety feels like something that happens to us, the siren song of food cravings feels like something we should be able to control. The result is a toxic cocktail of shame and self-loathing that makes it impossible to change our behavior. The Hunger Habit is based on Judson Brewer’s deeply researched plan proven to help us understand what is going on in our brains so that we can heal the shame and overcome overeating.

practical guide to mondful eating
Revisado: 05-30-24
Judson Brewer is the closest thing I have to a guru. I appreciate his scientific approach to mindfulness.
In this book he has created a step by step guide to mindful eating with specific practices along the way. I followed his advice to read the book slow while taking notes and I am happy I did.
By taking your time with the book you can put to practice the practices he describes and see how they impact your life.
Thank you Dr. Brewer for helping me enjoy eating again.

One gorgeous autumn day, Harrison discovers that his wife—the sweet, funny, loving mother of their three daughters, a woman “who’s spent just about every Sunday of her life in a church”—is having an affair with a family friend. This revelation propels the hysterical, heartbreaking events in How to Stay Married, casting our narrator onto “the factory floor of hell,” where his wife was now in love with a man who “wears cargo shorts, on purpose.” What will he do? Kick her out?

A bit biblical for my liking but Harrison Scott Keys does a great job at including humour in his dark and twisted story. some great wisdom can be found in this book and the biblical side grows on you with enough couriousity.

Historia
Renowned poet and critic Clive James presents the crowning achievement of his career: a monumental translation into English verse of Dante’s The Divine Comedy. The Divine Comedy is the precursor of modern literature, and this translation - decades in the making - gives us the entire epic as a single, coherent and compulsively listenable lyric poem. Written in the early 14th century and completed in 1321, the year of Dante’s death, The Divine Comedy is perhaps the greatest work of epic poetry ever composed.
