Historia
When Derek Sivers started CD Baby, he wasn’t planning on building a major business. He was a successful independent musician who just wanted to sell his CDs online. When no one would help him do it, he set out on his own and built an online store from scratch. He started in 1998 by helping his friends sell their CDs. In 2000, he hired his first employee. Eight years later, he sold CD Baby for $22 million. Sivers didn’t need a business plan, and neither do you.

Genius.
Revisado: 06-29-23
This short book is highly inspiring. Filled with bold insights, integrity, honesty, and remarkable accessibility, Sivers brings a pure-hearted voice to an arena more often peopled by mercenaries.

Historia
In The Whole Five Feet, Christopher Beha turns to the great books for answers after undergoing a series of personal and family crises and learning that his grandmother had used the Harvard Classics to educate herself during the Great Depression. The result is a smart, big-hearted, and inspirational mix of memoir and intellectual excursion that "deftly illustrates how books can save one's life" (Helen Schulman).

Mispronunciations by the reader are many...
Revisado: 02-02-20
This reader commits a shocking number of mispronunciations, particularly egregious considering the subject matter. How did this stunningly inaccurate audio make it to the public? Pronouncing “Kant” like “can’t,” for example; “Aeschylus” as “Usk EE Lus;” “Blaise Pascal” as “blaze Pascal.” These come quickly to mind. These were many others. Clearly no research done. Clearly a person unfamiliar with the material producing. Christopher Beha much be mortified. He surely knows the correct pronunciations. So, story? Great. The performance? Shockingly poor. Btw, I never write reviews but this was too appalling to ignore. I’m embarrassed for Audible.

My Struggle: Book One introduces American listeners to the audacious, addictive, and profoundly surprising international literary sensation that is the provocative and brilliant six-volume autobiographical novel by Karl Ove Knausgaard. It has already been anointed a Proustian masterpiece and is the rare work of dazzling literary originality that is intensely, irresistibly readable.

Historia
Ishmael, a sailor looking for his next adventure, and his friend who happens to be a former prince, sign up to join a whaling ship in Nantucket. The morning before they set sail on their voyage, many ominous signs of what the pair's fate may be are seen and heard through sermon and prophecy as the two friends ignore the warnings and make their way to the docks. Soon into the trip, the one-legged Captain Ahab announces that the whaling adventure is really a hunt for one very specific large, white sperm whale.
