This was a unique short focused on werewolves and how in a more modern setting, one might have to live. I wished for more at the end though, it felt a little unfinished.

Really fantastic story of a family torn apart by loss and one girls determination to use her hobby to set things back to right. Wished for a bit more, but really enjoyed it.

Grief led to gore

I’d heard some less than stellar things about this one, but I actually really love it! It’s a tour de force on grief and evil influences, but I’d love to see this become an entire novel with more flesh on its bones.

Death Comes in Many Forms

Hunger For Death by Joshua Marsella is a unique set of horror short stories, all surrounding death. I enjoyed pretty much all of the stories involved, which I feel is rare, because most short story collections typically have a few I just never get invested in. Rather than elaborating on what they contain, I’ll just list a few of my favorites:

-Mean Old Mr Amesbury
-To Feast With Orphans
-A Room Full of Toys

I will say, this experience taught me that I do not like short stories via audiobook. I much prefer to read them myself, as the narrator changes so much for each story. The narrator here didn’t do a bad job at all, I just needed variety as I went. All in all, a collection I think you’ll enjoy!

A Wild Ride Through Terror

This was impressive. An opening act for John Durgin that will leaving you wanting more. I’m teetering between it feeling like extreme YA to me, and maybe tamer than what I’m used to in my own reading. I think it might have been how young the characters were, but the action was not limited. There is plenty of gore, plenty of terror. Like Smashmouth says, the hits start coming and they don’t stop coming. If you love possession, gore, and revenge, this one is for you. Once I’ve got time and money cleared, I’m into his newest, Inside the Devils Nest, which I suspect will be as solid a read as this one.
