When Penny Dahl calls the Finders Keepers detective agency, hoping for help locating her missing daughter, Holly Gibney is reluctant to accept the case. Her partner, Pete, has Covid. Her (very complicated) mother has just passed away. And Holly is meant to be on leave. But something in Penny’s desperate voice makes it impossible to turn her down. A short story takes 14 hours
Revisado: 10-11-23
Listen to the first 30 minutes then skip the next 10 hours and you won’t miss anything. The narrator is terrible. If they had brought back Will Patton it might have been better. It’s a predictable story with little or no real thought out into it. I’m disappointed this is the Holly story we waited for.

A new story for a new age
Revisado: 08-03-21
The best science fiction builds not only on a story but also its characters in their world. Paladin shows the imagination of the author and his love for the human connection with things that are not of this world.
Battle sequences are the hardest thing to describe to a new audience. Dan's realistic description allows the reader to immerse themselves into the story, all while feeling the characters' true emotions.
I'm looking forward to the next one!

Historia
Coyote Runs, an Apache boy, takes part in his first raid. But he is to be a man for only a short time. More than 100 years later, while camping near Dog Canyon, 15-year-old Brennan Cole becomes obsessed with a skull he finds, pierced by a bullet. He learns it is the skull of an Apache boy executed by soldiers in 1864. A mystical link joins Brennan and Coyote Runs, and Brennan knows that neither boy will find peace until Coyote Runs' skull is carried back to an ancient sacred place.

A childhood favorite lives on!
Revisado: 04-28-19
My mother bought this book for me when I was 10. After reading it I found the audio cassette tape in the local library and instantly fell in love with it. Not since the BBC production of the Lord of the Rings had I been this hooked to a story. Peter Coyote, who in my opinion is an overlooked actor for his accomplishments over the years, delivers a wonderful atmosphere for this story. Well worth the purchase!

Historia
The year is 1876. Warring Indian tribes still populate America's western territories, even as lawless gold-rush towns begin to mark the landscape. In much of the country, it is still illegal to espouse evolution. Against this backdrop two monomaniacal paleontologists pillage the Wild West, hunting for dinosaur fossils while surveilling, deceiving, and sabotaging each other in a rivalry that will come to be known as the Bone Wars.

A triumphant return!
Revisado: 04-28-19
Michael Crichton has been one of my favorite authors for some time. Notably for Jurassic Park, Eaters of the Dead and several others. I found that Crichton's work had gone down hill with a few of his last books like Prey. I can understand this now because of his illness. I found Dragon Teeth to be something completely new and easy to follow. His wife's prologue at the end of the book is worth consideration as well.
