Historia
Desperate to escape from London, single mother Zoe wants to build a new life for herself and her four-year-old son Hari. She can barely afford the crammed studio apartment on a busy street where shouting football fans keep them awake all night. Hari’s dad, Jaz, a charismatic but perpetually broke DJ, is no help at all. But his sister, Surinder, comes to Zoe’s aid, hooking her up with a job as far away from the urban crush as possible: a bookshop on the banks of Loch Ness. And there’s a second job to cover housing: Zoe will be an au pair at a castle in the Scottish Highlands.

What a sweet story!
Revisado: 12-22-21
I have been reeled in! Jenny is a new favorite and I can’t wait to hear more.
Characters are cute and fun to learn more about. Mental health is addressed and realistic. I love that the love is real, not too long drawn out and not overly movie fake. Just a good story.
I love the Scottish stories and can’t get enough. This is number two by her that I’ve listened to and I am not at all disappointed. Two good ones in a row? That’s never happened for me before!
It’s a great listen, and I love the accent. Keep em’ coming!

Historia
Laid off from her department store job, Carmen has perilously little cash and few options. The prospect of spending Christmas with her perfect sister Sofia, in Sofia’s perfect house with her perfect children and her perfectly ordered yuppie life, does not appeal. Frankly, Sofia doesn’t exactly want her prickly sister Carmen there, either. But Sofia has yet another baby on the way, a mother desperate to see her daughters get along, and a client who needs help revitalizing his shabby old bookshop. So Carmen moves in and takes the job.

Adorable and light hearted
Revisado: 12-10-21
I haven’t really ever been a Christmas fiction fan, but on a whim it sounded fun, so I picked this book, then had to wait on the release. Im glad I did. I loved the Scottish accent, and the story was funny, realistic and I found myself looking forward to my early morning alone time so I could sip my coffee, crochet and listen to more. Im sad it’s over, as I always am when a good book ends. I even recommended it to a friend.
A very enjoyable listen. I hope I can find another by her I enjoy as much!

Fabulous.

Listen to this. It’s great. I didn’t have any expectations but I was not disappointed. And I’m kinda hard to please when it comes to these types of things.
