Historia
War veteran Peter Ash sought peace and quiet among the towering redwoods of Northern California, but the trip isn't quite the balm he'd hoped for. The dense forest and close fog cause his claustrophobia to buzz and spark, and then he stumbles upon a grizzly long thought to have vanished from this part of the country. In a fight of man against bear, Peter doesn't favor his odds, so he makes a strategic retreat up a nearby sapling. There he finds something strange: a climbing rope affixed to a distant branch above.

Historia
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Awesome narration
Revisado: 11-10-22
I’ve listened to a lot of audio books and this by far was the most entertaining and spot on narration I’ve heard. Well done!

I’ve listened to the Simon Riske series, they’re all good. I just needed to give a shout out to the reader, his accents are fantastic and he brings the books to life.

Miss Joe Barret
Revisado: 05-14-22
The story was as good as ever and this narrator is good. But not Joe… the only other issue I had was with the sound editing. The narrator would barely finish a chapter and would be interrupted by himself stating the next chapter. Is quite jarring and took away from the experience. Hopefully, that might be correctable.

Nicknamed “the Nazi Hunter,” Marek Cain has for 10 years been the point man for tracking down ex-Nazis who have fraudulently entered the United States since World War II and bringing them to justice. Late one afternoon, a distraught German woman eludes security and slips into Cain’s office. “I have documents,” she says, “important documents only for the Nazi Hunter.” She promises to bring them the next day. When she doesn’t show, he dismisses her as just another crackpot - until he discovers that she has been brutally murdered.

I disagree with another review that said there were too many characters and religion. The story was well written and held my attention. The narrator was fantastic. Highly recommend this audible book.

Music has to go
Revisado: 07-31-21
I enjoyed this audible sorry and the narrator was great. The music that would start when something dramatic was about to happen was distracting and corny.

I listen to many audible books. The story is thoughtful, deliciously complicated and smart. The reader was exceptional as he brought the book to life.
