Historia
Scott Adams was one of the earliest public figures to predict Donald Trump’s election. The mainstream media regarded Trump as a lucky clown, but Adams - best known as “the guy who created Dilbert” - recognized a level of persuasion you only see once in a generation. We’re hardwired to respond to emotion, not reason, and Trump knew exactly which emotional buttons to push. The point isn’t whether Trump was right or wrong, good or bad. Adams goes beyond politics to look at persuasion tools that can work in any setting - the same ones Adams saw in Steve Jobs.

I think this book is going to change my life
Revisado: 07-18-20
As I listened to this audiobook and learned about different persuasion techniques Trump used to win in 2016, I started remembering times in my life when these techniques had been used on me, and times when I had used them intuitively. I had multiple "lightbulb" moments - I can't say that about most of the books I read. Thank you for sharing this info with your audience Scott - you could have kept this valuable information to yourself forever, but instead you wrote a great book and I hope you make a million dollars. :)

Saving Cinderella: What Feminists Get Wrong About Disney Princesses and How to Set It Right

Historia
It’s time to save Cinderella! Ready for a radical statement? Disney princesses aren’t anti-feminist. Until the 1990s, Disney princesses were role models for little girls, teaching them how to grow up into strong, centered, moral women. But then something terrible happened. A vocal minority of viewers and film critics (let’s call them “princess critics”) got hold of the narrative. They called Disney princesses “drips”, said they were “boring”, and boiled their dreams down to “husband hunting”.

Terrific book!!
Revisado: 06-18-19
I loved this book! I always loved Ariel and Cinderella growing up and when Frozen came out it never sat right with me but I could never put my finger on why. The author’s arguments are so clear and her knowledge of princess stories and symbolism is extensive. I also really appreciate the defense of Snow White as a character with agency - as well as a great synopsis of The Frog Prince, which I haven’t seen but now plan to. Great book!

Historia
What’s in your garage: a Prius or a pickup? What’s in your coffee cup: Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts? What about your pet: cat or dog? As award-winning political scholars Marc Hetherington and Jonathan Weiler explain, even our smallest choices speak volumes about us - especially when it comes to our personalities and our politics. Liberals and conservatives seem to occupy different worlds because we have fundamentally different worldviews: systems of values that can be quickly diagnosed with a handful of simple parenting questions, but which shape our lives and decisions in the most elemental ways.

Good research, but liberal bias is irritating
Revisado: 01-22-19
I gave it three stars because it is more worth reading than not, but it was annoying to keep reading about how all “fixed” voters are motivated by racism. I’m a fixed person, and I vote based on my religious convictions. One possible fix to how deeply fragmented our parties have become would be for the left to stop demonizing religious people all the time. Maybe it’s ok to work at a private Christian school, even if their beliefs differ from yours. You could argue the same for Muslim schools - freedom of religion being one of the reasons our country was founded in the first place. And maybe if the left stopped threatening to tax our nation’s places of worship, fixed voters wouldn’t feel that fear anymore that made them vote for Trump - who we all knew wasn’t a Christian, and frankly we didn’t care, because we knew he would protect our urban churches from closing down and protect our freedom of religion and speech more generally. Anyway, that’s my take. But the research is excellent, so worth the read.

I really enjoyed this book! I finished it in two days - it was very entertaining. I have two kids with autism - and I laughed at some parts, and cried at others. It’s a fun read - I could even see it getting produced as a movie. I’m still casting it in my head - maybe Katie Holmes as Anne, can Mila Kunis do an Israeli accent? lol Anyway, its a fun read!

Historia
Neither Washington DC, Wall Street, Mexico, China, the Feds, nor the media are the cause of our problems - nor are they the cure. What happens after all the bogeymen have been vanquished? What if opposing the incompetence of the European Union, the biases of the American media, the corruption of crony capitalism, the arrogance of political power brokers, and allegedly unfair global trade deals is not enough? The key to American prosperity in this new era of populism is for moral people to make responsibility matter again by renewing personal virtue.

I first heard about this book on Bahnsen’s Radio Free California podcast, and I’m so glad I checked it out. I am middle class, and I appreciated all of his arguments on how people on both sides of the aisle are blaming others for their problems and not taking responsibility for their lives. It’s a quick read (or listen, in my case, since I got it on audible) and well worth the time.

The Supreme Court has issued a decision, but that doesn't end the debate. Now that the Supreme Court has ruled, Americans face momentous debates about the nature of marriage and religious liberty. Because the Court has redefined marriage in all 50 states, we have to energetically protect our freedom to live according to conscience and faith as we work to rebuild a strong marriage culture.

In the fall of 2014, outspoken pundit, author, and filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza found himself hauled into federal court for improperly donating money to a friend who was running for the Senate. In the facility, he lived among hardened criminals - drug dealers, thieves, gangbangers, rapists, and murderers.

Excellent book - I couldn't put it down!
Revisado: 11-23-15
I loved how this book exposed the lies of the progressives in the media, in academia and in politics. So much of the craziness happening right now in the culture can be traced back to the schemes these people are pulling on all of us, and we - even those on the left fooled by the pitch - are getting stolen from. Thank you Dinesh - I hope you never stop exposing these schemes!

Historia
In The Conservative Heart, Arthur C. Brooks contends that after years of focusing on economic growth and traditional social values, it is time for a new kind of conservatism - one that helps the vulnerable without mortgaging our children's future. In Brooks' daring vision, this conservative movement fights poverty, promotes equal opportunity, celebrates earned success, and values spiritual enlightenment. It is an inclusive movement with a positive agenda to help people lead happier, more hopeful, and more satisfied lives.
