Historia
After a career spying for Queen Victoria, James Asher enjoyed a quiet retirement until he met the vampire Don Simon, an immortal Spaniard who taught him about the secret society of bloodsucking undead. Now, one of the vampires, the Earl of Ernchester, has turned his back on Britain. When Asher spots him boarding a train for Paris in the company of an Austrian spy, he springs into action. If the immortals can forge an alliance with England’s enemies, then the Empire is doomed.

Good read, even though it's a bit disjointed
Revisado: 04-24-17
So, the concept is really good, and Rowe's writing is good. However, some aspects were rough. He has a throw away story in the beginning of the book that really doesn't make any sense why it would be in there; his back stories on the characters are MADDENINGLY drawn out, so much so that it takes a away a bit from the main story; and the coolest part of the story (the last few chapters ) would have been much better served in the beginning of the story. However the old adage is true, those who can, write and those who can't....write Audible reviews. That being said he did a good job on this; the Narrator (Kevin Stillwell) did a really great job!! Great tone and speed

Historia
We expect our judges to be honest and wise. Their integrity and impartiality are the bedrock of the entire judicial system. We trust them to ensure fair trials, to protect the rights of all litigants, to punish those who do wrong, and to oversee the orderly and efficient flow of justice. But what happens when a judge bends the law or takes a bribe? It’s rare, but it happens. Lacy Stoltz is an investigator for the Florida Board on Judicial Conduct. She is a lawyer, not a cop, and it is her job to respond to complaints dealing with judicial misconduct.

OK Story...but uggghhh the Narrator
Revisado: 03-12-17
The story was OK...not really Grisham's best. But if you are going to listen to this then buy yourself a helmet so it doesn't hurt as much when you bang your head off the wall by listening to the EXCRUCIATINGLY slow tempo of this narrator.... I don't know if she was getting paid by the hour or what, but word of advice... play the book at a 1.3X speed to maintain any level of sanity.

Historia
A seemingly straightforward private case turns out to be much more complicated - and sinister - than Special Agent A. X. L. Pendergast ever could have anticipated. Pendergast, together with his ward, Constance Greene, travels to the quaint seaside village of Exmouth, Massachusetts, to investigate the theft of a priceless wine collection. But inside the wine cellar, they find something considerably more disturbing: a bricked-up niche that once held a crumbling skeleton.

Rene Auberjonois is the Bomb!!
Revisado: 09-09-16
Listen the Pendergast novels have been pretty cool. However, they've tended to jump the rails from time to time on fantastical story lines. This one, unfortunately, may be in that category. Decent story, but the plots seem to be getting a little more out there. However Rene Auberjonois is the bomb as a narrator

Make a quick $20, don't buy this book
Revisado: 05-10-16
Holy LORD this is bad ! Now I'm sure there will be some intellectuals out there that will spin his advice into a "Horoscope-Like" interpretation of how they can get their portfolio to perform better... but overall, this book tells you NOTHING!! In addition the author can't make his mind up on whether he wants to be "folksy" in his dispensing of info or an MBA throwing so much jargon at you that your head spins.
His whole premise is basically: Find Something; and Buy it for Less... But then goes on to talk about every way to determine a valuation (so that in theory you can buy it for less) and then says... yeah but that doesn't really work. Even his end advice... yeah big surprise here , invest in value mutual funds is flawed, because he pretty much admits that they will be up or down (depending on shear luck of the draw) but Never talks about how to determine if they're on the way up or down or over/under valued. Here's free advice.... There is No formula. Your best bet is to use the Bear Analogy.... If you and a buddy are getting chased by a bear, you don;t have to outrun the bear....just your buddy. Everyone is in the same crappy investment boat, as long as you hedge your bets and don;t go all in on freakin iceberg futures in Ethiopia, you'll be better off then the majority of people out there investing in lottery tickets every week. You Are Smarter Than This BOOK!!!
But I will say that the Narrator was pretty decent

Ugghh .... Dear God Make it Shorter
Revisado: 04-12-16
It was a decent story, but you could have shaved 30% off and it would still seem long. I'm not sure if it is the 400 twists and turns (which after a little bit just start to become tiresome rather than intriguing) or the narrator who reminds me of my Grandfather telling a "Depression Era" story. I would say it's s decent story, but set your reading speed setting to 1.5 and save yourself from falling asleep at the wheel.

Decent Read...ehhhh Narrator
Revisado: 04-12-16
This was a decent read. The story was pretty decent outside of a few personal frustrations with the ending. I think a different narrator however could have added to the reading. This narrator seemed to fall back on a "Cheech and Chong" or "Thurston Howell" voice whenever reading some of the characters. I think this could have been stronger with a better (Latino) narrator
