Historia
A biting satire about a young man's isolated upbringing and the race trial that sends him to the Supreme Court, Paul Beatty's The Sellout showcases a comic genius at the top of his game. It challenges the sacred tenets of the United States Constitution, urban life, the civil rights movement, the father-son relationship, and the holy grail of racial equality: the black Chinese restaurant.

Historia
Let’s be honest - traditional small firm law practice is not working very well. Too many small firm lawyers struggle to make ends meet, get clients, meet clients’ expectations, or they wrestle with mental health issues or substance abuse. Meanwhile, there is a huge gap between those who need legal help and those who can get it. But it doesn’t have to be that way. We can build better firms, be more effective with our clients, enjoy better health and a greater sense of fulfillment, and make a bigger impact on our communities.

Hit me. Kick me. Hurt me. Hate me. There’s nothing that the students of Raleigh High can do to Silver Parisi anymore. Over the past year, she’s had to endure more pain and suffering than most people are asked to bear in their lifetimes. She’s a pariah, an outcast, a ghost. She’s also never been one to take shit lying down, though...despite what half the football team might say. With only 168 days left of the school year, it won’t be long until graduation, and Silver’s planning on skipping town and leaving Raleigh firmly in her rearview mirror. Until he comes along....

The Top 5 Elements!
Revisado: 12-19-19
This was an easy book to read/listen. The mnemonic device of using the 4 elements of life (earth, fire, air, water) as a way to remember his elements was fantastic. He adds another element (change) in his book.
I don't want to go into detail and spoil it; but if you get the book you will quickly learn about those elements are and how he uses them.

Emmy Award-winning news anchor and New York Times best-selling author Chris Hayes argues that there are really two Americas: a Colony and a Nation. America likes to tell itself that it inhabits a postracial world, but nearly every empirical measure - wealth, unemployment, incarceration, school segregation - reveals that racial inequality hasn't improved since 1968.

Since it was first published in 2010, it has been cited in judicial decisions and has been adopted in campus-wide and community-wide reads; it helped inspire the creation of the Marshall Project and the new $100 million Art for Justice Fund; it has been the winner of numerous prizes, including the prestigious NAACP Image Award; and it has spent nearly 250 weeks on the New York Times best seller list.

This book was very well done, and full of historical facts. The topic was sad and somewhat depressing. An unbiased person, after reading this book, should recognize there is a huge racial problem with our prison system.
