Historia
Gifted storyteller Winston Groom, the best-selling author of Forrest Gump, has written the fascinating story of three extraordinary heroes who defined aviation during the great age of flight: Charles Lindbergh, Eddie Rickenbacker, and Jimmy Doolittle. These cleverly interwoven tales of their heart-stopping adventures take us from the feats of World War I through the heroism of World War II and beyond, including daring military raids and survival at sea, and will appeal to fans of Unbroken, The Greatest Generation, and Flyboys.

What a time to be alive
Revisado: 01-04-20
I think it goes that saying that these men laid the foundation for what we have in the air today. without the barn storming, test piloting, and flights around the world, we may never have gotten to where we are today. or at least we certainly would not have done it first, as fast, or as good as we did. each one of these men have an incredible story, in this book did a very good job of telling all of them briefly enough, but in depth enough to gain a new level of appreciation beyond what you may have heard in the brief passing of stories told by others.

Historia
From the earliest days of his 34-year military career, Victor "Brute" Krulak displayed a remarkable facility for applying creative ways of fighting to the Marine Corps. He went on daring spy missions, was badly wounded, pioneered the use of amphibious vehicles, and masterminded the invasion of Okinawa. In Korea, he was a combat hero and invented the use of helicopters in warfare.

what a life
Revisado: 01-04-20
at times it's hard to understand why people do what they do, but this book actually did a very good job of explaining where this man came from. The impact that he had on not only just the Marine corps, but the military and total is insurmountable. it truly is incredible to hear the things that individuals have gone through, trials and tribulations, and the results that they have shared the entire world. we need more men like this to do things that they have done and help us keep moving forward.

Historia
John Boyd may be the most remarkable unsung hero in all of American military history. Some remember him as the greatest US fighter pilot ever - the man who, in simulated air-to-air combat, defeated every challenger in less than 40 seconds. Some recall him as the father of our country's most legendary fighter aircraft - the F-15 and F-16. Still, others think of Boyd as the most influential military theorist since Sun Tzu. They know only half the story.

Incredible
Revisado: 01-04-20
not only was his life story incredible, but the book was very well written, researched, told, and a good reflection in that line of work. I've listened to this book more times than I can count, and recommend it to anyone that says they read or have an audible account.

Historia
James Dommek, Jr., an Alaska Native writer and musician, sheds new light on a real-life mystery that pits Native American folklore against the US justice system. In the vast Alaskan Arctic, legend has it there once lived a mythic tribe—Iñukuns—that only existed in rumors and whispers. This changed forever when an actor-turned-fugitive, Teddy Kyle Smith, had an encounter that brought Iñukuns from myth to reality. Smith was an aspiring actor with a promising career until it all came quickly crashing down with a gunshot, a manhunt, bloodshed, and other frightful events.

entertaining read
Revisado: 01-04-20
this was a very well told story, it was entertaining to listen to, and it was tied together by a very personal touch with the author's background.
