Jessica Hecht is Horrible for Horror

Great stories by Stephen King. Craig Wasson is good. But Jessica Hecht is not a good selection for horror, thriller and mystery. She reads as if she is happily reading a children's book, or reading the happy news. Literally, like a happy teacher reading a happy story, smile 100% on the face, narrating a story about murder, rape, revenge...etc, but trying to make it sound like it's the bestest news ever. Very bad. it actually brings the whole quality of the stories down. It drives me nuts big time.

Would you try another book from Vincent V. Cava and/or Mr. Creepy Pasta?

The stories were okay, but if I see Mr. Creepy Pasta is narrating, I will skip. He read too fast at times and it started giving me anxiety attacks! Whoever produced this audio did a poor job too, there are pauses and repeat lines.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Mr. Creepy Pasta?

Someone who reads slower.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The story plots were okay.

Where does Mr. Mann rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would now add this book to my top five all favorite books.

What did you like best about this story?

The process of finding good in even bad things.

What about Todd McLaren’s performance did you like?

He was good at doing the voices of different people.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The ending!

What would have made The Border better?

Descriptions of where things came from were missing, and too much time was spent traveling with no achievements.

Would you ever listen to anything by Robert McCammon again?

sure

Would you listen to another book narrated by Fred Berman?

It was fun at first, but then I ended up just stopping it about 75% of the way through.

I stopped it 75% of the way through because their travel felt redundant and it was too alienish for me.

Yes, I LOVE Stephen King

What was most disappointing about Stephen King’s story?

There were no ghosts and gouls in this one, other than one or two.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

I LOVE Will Patton!

Do you think The Bazaar of Bad Dreams needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No.

If you like the ghosts, ghouls and supernatural aspect of King's stories, this one is not going to be for you. It wasn't my favorite of his at all!

Yes, it is very entertaining and fun for people who love magic.

What other book might you compare Library at Mount Char to and why?

It made me think of Sookie Stackhouse and her crazy thought process.

What about Hillary Huber’s performance did you like?

I like that she changes her voices for each character.

Great book! I happened to see it on accident and had never heard of it before, but I loved it!

Yes I will, because I enjoyed listening to Dan Torrence and his struggles, King writes it so well.

Yes, it's fun to have the author read their own novels. The true meaning that the author wanted to get across is found in their narration.
