I couldn’t even finish this book. The toxic masculinity is disgusting. I’m shocked at how many positive reviews it has. Knox may not be a bad person but he’s not a hero, being mean and rude to the girl you think is annoying but also hot is not cute. The writing is dull and simple. Cringy, barbaric, and so stupid. Terrible all around.

The plot had so much potential but there was no depth, no deep exploration of feelings or relationships. It was very surface level and frankly just boring. The narrator wasn’t my favorite but I don’t think anyone could’ve saved this story.

Truly loved the characters in this book but the misunderstandings between Jacob and Briana should’ve been resolved sooner. Briana rejecting Jacob’s initial date invite bc she thought he was in love with Amy was so dumb. Like just have a conversation! I think the characters deserved more depth, rather than the silly miscommunications between them. Bennys storyline was very touching but Jacob and Briana deserve more.

I’m genuinely shocked at how many people liked this book. The main character was so pathetic it was giving me second hand embarrassment. Her and Nick getting together was so predictable and unrealistic. The narrator was awful, very monotone and never matched the words or feelings of the characters. The family dynamic was so toxic but the author tried to push it as lovable. Not to mention how anti-climactic it was when she found out she has a sister. It might be the worst book I’ve ever read. Barely finished it. Skip this and go get a woman’s fiction with substance.

I thought the beginning was intriguing but the middle and end had way too many holes. Great narrator but other than that I’d recommend skipping this one. It really felt like a waste of time

Debbie Macombers books just keep getting worse and worse now. All her recent books have weak woman characters that constantly need a man to save them. It’s sickening. The character Nick in this book was entitled, pushy, and arrogant but was somehow still the hero. I really had high hopes for the main character Joan but when her gardener inserted himself to protect Joan when visiting Maggie’s dad I knew it was going in the wrong direction… like women constantly need a man, it’s a pretty old school thought and plot.

I would love to read about women who don’t allow for this type of controlling behavior in their lives rather than always following for it and ending up together. So corny, the book was an insult to women everywhere.

I’ve loved some of her books in the past but it’s safe to say I’m officially done with Debbie Macomber books.

Great story filled with love, heartbreak, and realism. Xe Sands is an incredible narrator. I found Monica’s character to be extremely relatable. The author did a great job of showing each character’s point of view on a sensitive topic.

Way too corny. The story had potential but they don’t really dig deep into it. The corniest part was probably how the men spoke to Jane and her friend, it was so unrealistic.

Great story, lots of depth but it is extremely sad. Lovable characters and compelling storylines, but it almost gets more sad as you go.
