Raveling went on to become one of the winningest coaches of all time, a mentor to legendary athletes, and a confidant of the sport’s greatest coaches, including Bob Knight and John Wooden. He convinced Michael Jordan to collaborate with Nike on the Air Jordan. He led the 1984 U.S. men’s Olympic team to their ninth gold medal.

“At one point they tried to calculate when time began, when exactly the earth had been created,” begins Time Shelter’s enigmatic narrator, who goes unnamed. “In the mid-seventeenth century, the Irish bishop Ussher calculated not only the exact year, but also a starting date: October 22, 4,004 years before Christ.” But for our narrator, time as he knows it begins when he meets Gaustine, a “vagrant in time” who has distanced his life from contemporary reality by reading old news, wearing tattered old clothes, and haunting the lost avenues of the twentieth century.

Really great idea to consider the memories we all hold so dear. The thought of which shelter we should enter tickles the fancy. Surely the Bulgarian bistro brings back bohemia? I really enjoyed this work and see why the prize was given. Truly a great mind opening new doors!!

As a kid growing up in new have ct, my family had some poster with all the presidents, I can remember look at these guys thinking they must have been wonderful fellows. Harrison, Adams, Fillmore, Tyler, Jackson, i can see them now and remember the ignorance i suffered. Clearly i wasn't that interested because if I was I would have known more about these southern slave masters and how they didn't really believe in anything but maintaining their supremacy. This work is so upsetting in a lot of ways, because this anti woke movement seeks to hide the truth told herein. Joel has laid it out and put all the truth before the world claerly and concisely. For all Webster's oratory skills, his sacrifice of the slaves is indivisible from hypocrisy. I hope more people will read this book as the story is quite well done and needs to a part pf critical race theory to be sure!
