Revisited this classic from my youth- It's hard to believe this was written at a time when few of us bothered to have a home computer, virtual reality was so far fetched as to be an off putting aspect of this book, and 20 years before google maps was under production- much less AI! Makes this book seem prophetic. Be that as it may, it is smart exploration into the power of language: spoken, written, binary combined with an adventure caper. I don't think you can consider yourself a "well read person" without having read this one. Plus, it's fun.

This isn't my usual type of read, but I am glad I branched out. It is smart, funny, and unpredictable. The Bobs are charming and heroic. I have already downloaded next in series.

If whiney insecure inner dialogue is interesting to you and drummed up conflict over things a kind and sensible conversation could solve, then go for it. I think it's supposed to be relatable? We all have things we don't like about ourselves, however that is not what makes us interesting, nor does it our female MC. Liked the concept and world building. Writing is well done. Narrators good, but I regret the credit and won't finish.

How did alpha omega sex get so boring?

How do I put this? The bookwas too boring to be a novel, and too unsexy to be a titillating omega book. Is this book written for people who have only faked orgasisms? Look- i love a bad anti hero, juicy Omega sex. The sex was sad and shallow and dialogue was sad and shallow. There. I said that.

I might enjoy Lord Ickenham more than Bertie Wooster. Excellent narration to a fun tale.

This is the best book in this genre I’ve listened to in a while. Reader was talented and did male voices well enough. The story was interesting. The characters fully developed. Usually, I prefer a lot more gratuitous sex in books like this, but i really enjoyed the book anyway. Says a lot, that.

These are so well done that i have never heard the end if one because I am asleep. I like all the sleep stories and podcasts but i think this one is the very best at it. Love love love. THE ABSOLUTE BEST.

If there was some real human connection maybe I would like it better.

I can see how people like this; it excellently narrated, and well written. But i am a few hours in and bored silly. I have done multiverse books, sci-fi, paranormal romance, contemporary romance, and all the genres. So, my objections aren’t some kind of book culture shock. What we have here is just a lot of our angst filled female then male main character living in their own heads (maybe minor spoiler-most likely on book description- but fair warning) between their more pleasant parallel universes. I guess if you’re dating a dud and wish your parallel universe would manifest? Or you like romance made of impossible odds, and very little passion- maybe. I am hours in and so BORED. We could have edited out all the last few chapters. There is no human connection. She can hardly stand her mom. Her fiancé seems to bore, disgust, and exhaust her. Her boss is a one dimensional monster, And her best friend is shallow. Male main character has a GF he feels guilty he barely feels for, and one friend with two discounted lame lines. Just boringly meandering through this human disconnection for hours. Geez. Alright. Already. So bored. No interesting humanity, no sexy steaminess, not even the thought provoking aspect of confused fiction. Yawn.

I made it to chapter 15 before I got both exasperated and bored. So far, our heroine has accepted an engagement she was manipulated into, married someone else in daze, worked a little magic by accident, and acted childishly and impulsively by hitting and running away because she was mad and/or pouting. The only other thing she has done is endlessly and tiresomely self examine and brood over her feelings about what amounts to a rumor she heard from someone who heard it from someone else, that her job is just simply to be there. Our hero has no personality at all so he is even more dull. Also, all the way to chapter 15 and not a hint of smolder, zero chemistry much less the hope of steaminess to come? That’s supposed to be part of the fun of a book like this. Human-thrown-into-fairy-world is a fun genre, but i feel like i’ve read this story many times already by much better story tellers (Maas, Moning, Hamiliton to name just a few). This might be the first bad review I’ve ever bothered to write. I really was that exasperated of listening to this character act foolishly and whine constantly.
