This is an Oregon battle of the books title this year. My girls and I listen to it in the way to and from school. Here are their reviews:
Nittaya(11): hilarious story, my favorite part of the book was Henrietta
Paityn (9): I loved the whole book.. I didn’t want it to end and I can’t wait to read the next one. My favorite part was learning about each chicken’s usual trait.
Delainey (7): my favorite part was the chicken show when Sophie lets everyone know the truth about Mrs Greekson.
Mom: I love the style the book was written in.. letters, articles, etc.. fun way to tell a story. It was well written and entertaining. Lots of twists and turns.. I think we loved it a ton because of our own chickens.

overall enjoyable...

I usually love Gregory's books... and while I didn't gate the book.. there were times I feel like it was a bit tiring. The piety and send righteousness of Lady Margaret tended to exhaust itself and I found myself not as interested in this book as others. I however liked the story and how it tied to the white princess and filled in holes for me. I also didn't care for the switching off narrators. if you want an overall picture of how so the players and lives overlapped it is with the listen.

okay...

most of the stuff I already knew. there really isn't a secret to the three days. in fact she talked about preparing 3 weeks in advance. the one positive was that she reminded me to refocus on just the potty training for the days in a positive way. don't plan anything but the potty training.
