A grief stricken trip into madness
Revisado: 01-01-25
This book explores trauma and loss in a way that most readers would never experience for themselves. I found it insightful to glimpse the madness that may ensue as a result of grief. The conclusion was unpredictable and thought provoking.
The reader’s performance was a convincing represention of her character.

Historia
When Penny Dahl calls the Finders Keepers detective agency, hoping for help locating her missing daughter, Holly Gibney is reluctant to accept the case. Her partner, Pete, has Covid. Her (very complicated) mother has just passed away. And Holly is meant to be on leave. But something in Penny’s desperate voice makes it impossible to turn her down. Meanwhile, mere blocks from where Bonnie Dahl disappeared live Professors Rodney and Emily Harris. But they are also harboring a shocking, unholy secret.

WEARISOME
Revisado: 10-07-23
I missed the Holly character that I have grown to love! It was disappointing not to have Will Patton narrating, however, that dulled in the light of the monotony and repetitive referrals to Covid vaccines, elbow bumping, masks and political bashing that occurred in every chapter! OK, I am triple vaccinated, that being said, I would, never, never, never, refer to that in a conversation, or in a descriptive narrative. I stayed with the book until the end and an optimistic hope that somehow it would turn around. It took a lot of self-discipline to see it through! Unfortunately, the story droned on in a painful downward spiral.
