A bit much
Revisado: 09-19-22
I don't typically leave a review unless I loved the book. This book was just ok. The plot was interesting, however I think the story was overly descriptive. I enjoy books that allow the reader to create a bit of the story and figure things out along the way. This book tells you over and over what to think and when. And at times these overly descriptive passages were inaccurate. The author describes rotting bodies as a mix of parmesan cheese, rotting eggs, and methane gas. Methane, by the way is odorless, the rotting egg smell is added. I know that's a small detail to get hung up on, but it bothered me.

Left wanting more!
Revisado: 09-21-21
I loved it. It was a different sort of King novel than what I'm used to. It's first person with simple to follow characters. I couldn't wait to listen to another chapter, though I do feel it ended too soon. I wanted more of the story, which isn't necessarily a criticism. I also thougg the twist was a little creepy, but it's totally King. The performance was perfect. All in all, I definitely enjoyed the book!

Keeps you guessing
Revisado: 06-30-21
It was so easy to get lost in Furlong's well-developed characters. Every time you think you get to know them, a new layer is pulled back and you discover something new and surprising. The story also unfolds in layers and keeps you guessing the whole time. This is a mystery in the truest sense and so fun to read. The narrator's performance was the perfect fit for this story.
