Historia
A rogue Russian nuke sails toward the harbors of Los Angeles in the hull of a ramshackle sailboat. Without destroying a single building, the bomb shatters the latticework of the American dream, toppling one piece of the economy after another. A group of Special Forces veterans and their prepper friends scramble for survival in a worldwide catastrophe so psychologically disruptive they are left questioning everything they ever believed to be true.

predictable

While I am a big proponent of being prepared, the flat delivery and one layer characters were ultimately more than I could take. The authors were presented as characters in the book, and I sincerely hope they are deeper humans than their fictional counterparts. I tried to listen, really, Perhaps with a different narrator it would have held my interest, but I had to give up after several hours.

Historia
Often misdiagnosed and misunderstood, traumatic brain injury (TBI) may be a life-altering event that can produce a wide range of symptoms affecting physical as well as psychological health. Now, a physician shares her personal journey with TBI after suffering a life-changing accident. In this touching and informative book, Dr. Chrisanne Gordon chronicles her struggles - the high points as well as the lows - as she is challenged to make sense of what happened and realizes that her medical training did not prepare her for these struggles.

As the mother of a child who suffered a TBI, this filled in so many gaps into the “why” of actions, emotions, and recovery the injured endures. It has been more than a decade, and in many ways the progress was similar. The emotions I felt while reading this were almost a PTS for the struggle to survive as a caregiver. Thanks you for writing this. God Bless you.
