Historia
In a world full of super powers, Felix has a pretty crappy one. He has the ability to modify any item he owns. To upgrade anything. Sounds great on paper. Almost like a video game. Except that the amount of power it takes to actually change, modify, or upgrade anything worthwhile is beyond his abilities. With that in mind, Felix settled into a normal life. A normal job. His entire world changes when the city he lives in is taken over by a super villain. Becoming a country of one city. A city state.

Historia
Tim and his friends find out the hard way that you shouldn't question the game master, and you shouldn't make fun of his cape. One minute, they're drinking away the dreariness of their lives, escaping into a fantasy game and laughing their asses off. The next minute, they're in a horse-drawn cart surrounded by soldiers pointing crossbows at them.

Any additional comments?
This series started off strong. I enjoy a bit of crass humor, and all, but over the first, second, and third books, it's devolve from crass and humorous to just rude and perverted. Over time I began liking the characters less and less, until they just seemed like a bunch of ^&$holes who deserve all the crap their going through. They're whiny, they're rude, they're childish....I got about 10 minutes into book 4, and had to stop and return the book. Over the course of three books, I just can not find a single reason to care about any of the characters anymore...And the fact that I can't even properly articulate a proper review should speak volumes about how far this series has fallen.

My god....The narrator......
Revisado: 02-27-16
What disappointed you about Saving the Last Dragon?
The narrator.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
Most interesting? The story itself.
Least interesting? The way in which it was narrated.
Would you be willing to try another one of Fred Wolinsky’s performances?
No.
What character would you cut from Saving the Last Dragon?
The narrator.
Any additional comments?
Get this book in physical form or on the kindle, or nook, or whatever. Do not get the audiobook. I don't mean to be rude, but the narration of this book is so awful, I can not even begin to describe it. I tried to make it through the book, but only got about halfway through before the narration was to painful to listen to. I can handle bad narration if it seems like they are actually trying, but not this time.....Nearly every sentence was read like it was the last sentence of the book.
I didn't mind his voice, or some of the character voices. It was just the way he read the book that got on my nerves.

Decent book, but....
Revisado: 06-14-15
What did you like best about Confliction Compendium? What did you like least?
The whole thing was kinda meh. Nothing really stood out.
However, no disrespect intended, but the narration was terrible. I can handle bad narrations, and even don't mind some of them, but this one almost made even me regret getting the book.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
A flat, monotonous performance, mispronounced words (Most notably, "suscumbed" instead of "succumbed"). And what little inflection there was more often than not came at the end of sentences in the form of elongation and tone drop, making the narrator sound bored as H-E-Double hockey sticks reading this. Like it was a text book or something. It seemed as if there was no heart in the performance, and she made the characters seem about as two dimensional as the paper the words are written on.
Was Confliction Compendium worth the listening time?
Yes and no. Story wise, it was average, but listenable. Not the worst book I've listened to..But it really needs to be re-done with a new narrator who will actually bring the book to life instead of making the listeners slog through a monotonous stream of words.
