Historia
In this riveting follow-up to the best seller Everything Your Coach Never Told You Because You're a Girl, Coach Dan Blank takes aim at the warm and fuzzy double-standard facing those who coach female athletes and reveals the philosophies and methods that sparked a culture of unapologetic competitiveness in a women’s college soccer team that won more games than it was ever supposed to win.

Historia
From before the dawn of the 20th century until the arrival of the New Deal, one of the most protracted and deadly labor struggles in American history was waged in West Virginia. On one side were powerful corporations whose millions bought armed guards and political influence. On the other side were 50,000 mine workers, the nation's largest labor union, and the legendary "miners' angel", Mother Jones.

Probably not what you expect

Great read if you're studying for an intro level college class. I really expected more stories or rather more detailed stories. The performance was great.

Historia
There’s chaos in Hollywood at the end of the New Year’s Eve countdown. Working her graveyard shift, LAPD detective Renée Ballard waits out the traditional rain of lead as hundreds of revelers shoot their guns into the air. Only minutes after midnight, Ballard is called to a scene where a hardworking auto shop owner has been fatally hit by a bullet in the middle of a crowded street party.

Too much Covid; not enough Bosch

Not MCs best work
Revisado: 11-23-21
This isn't a Bosch and Ballard novel. It's a Ballard novel that just happens to have a little Bosch in it. I came through the series just reading the Bosch books so it was a little disappointing for me personally.
The pandemic/Vax stuff is forced and unnecessary. Whether you're beliefs are to the right or you just want an escape from COVID, you won't get it here. I get that the timing makes sense but it just doesn't fit with the story. The novel itself feels rushed and it appears it was to get that kind of material out there.
The performance was spectacular. If you enjoyed these 2 in previous books, you'll certainly be pleased. Honestly if not for the two of them, I may not have finished the book.
Waiting on the next great Bosch book...

Historia
The Neptune Grand has always been the seaside town's ritziest hotel, despite the shady dealings and high-profile scandals that seem to follow its elite guests. When a woman claims that she was brutally assaulted in one of its rooms and left for dead by a staff member, the owners know that they have a potential powder keg on their hands. They turn to Veronica to disprove - or prove - the woman's story.

Incredible dropoff in narration
Revisado: 03-04-20
Man, I had a feeling when I saw Kristen Bell wasn't narrating that I wouldn't enjoy this one as much as The Thousand Dollar Tan Line. I had no idea it would be this awful. This is on Tucker Max level of terrible. Imaging your Alexa device reading a book to you. Well it's worse than that. I will personally start a Kickstarter campaign to make up whatever difference that made Bell not narrate this one to ensure she narrates any future VM novels.
