Reader ruins the book

Great story, Ferrante again creates a world worth reading about and one we can identify with. However, the lady reading the book almost ruins the book. Somehow she is not on the same wave length as the story, she misses the boat completely. The person at Audible who chose her must not have read the book themselves, or have listened to the lady reading it , she is abominable.

This is a brilliant story about modern life. Lerner has honed his art to perfection in the book and I was in awe as I listened to this tale which captures the vast ambiguities and uncertainties of life in America today.

Brilliant writing and the author does a fantastic job of reading and giving life to the different characters. She has the perfect tone to draw the listener into the incredible world she created.

I learned a lot about living long ago. This book goes into detail about how it is back then. For schools learning about the olden days I recommend this book. I really got to know the characters and I loved some of them.❤️👍😍

Absolutely. This is an amazing story that expands our understanding of the different forces at work in our world today and which influence all of our lfves.

What did you like best about this story?

The author explores uncharted territory in today's fiction. The story was a sensitive and bold look at the so called "terrorists" who have become the scapegoat for the social, political, and economic ills of our world.

Which character – as performed by Neil Shah – was your favorite?

The boy who is injured in the terrorist attack is the most accessible character in the novel.

Who was the most memorable character of The Association of Small Bombs and why?

Each character is well developed and memorable. They all stand out in their own unique statement.

Any additional comments?

This is a very honest look at many sides of a very difficult question. The book provides an in depth appreciation of a controversial subject.

Would you consider the audio edition of Sapiens to be better than the print version?

The print version has graphs and charts that you are not aware of when you only listen to the book. However, the audio version is very well done.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, this is a book you want to listen to in short chapter shifts. There is a great deal to reflect on and it is important to take it slowly.

This is the only audio book I have listened to twice, it is marvelous. What an expansive and unexpected revelation.

Who is the teacher and who are the students?

Would you consider the audio edition of You Deserve Nothing to be better than the print version?

No. The audio version is well done but the print version, without hearing multiple voices, allows the reader to imaging the faces of the characters without outside influence.

What did you like best about this story?

The examination of the relationships between teachers and students is well portrayed. The teacher seeks to stimulate learning but can the teacher transcend his/her own flawed self in order to expand the horizon of students?

Which scene was your favorite?

The confrontation at the end between the principal, trustee, and the protagonist.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The protagonist's trip to Greece was the key to understanding his loneliness and isolation even though his outward life was devoted to social interactions.

This is a great study in the internal contradictions we all face between our ideals and our reality.

Story is captivating, Only flaws were several incidences which were not quite believable:
Jake's cure was one of them that stands out. A little heavy handed on the Christian take on things.
