Historia
Meet Jonathan Quinn: a freelance operative with a take-no-prisoners style and the heart of a loner. His job? Professional "cleaner". Nothing too violent, just disposing of bodies. But his latest assignment will change everything. The job seemed simple enough: investigating a suspicious case of arson. But when a dead body turns up, and Quinn's handlers at "the Office" turn strangely silent, he knows he's in over his head. With only a handful of clues, Quinn struggles to find out why someone wants him dead.

You completely omitted the negligence of manufacturers of Factor concentrate. All they had to do was heat the powder to a certain degree to kill the virus but that step cut into their profits. Their own researchers knew about the heating step and chose NOT to heat it. All the while they actively sought cheap plasma from Angola Prison “donors” and other high-risk donors. The CDC protected them when the hemophilia community filed a class action lawsuit. Settlement included non-disclosure clause. Would make a great episode.

What to read during Lent
Revisado: 03-20-22
Who better to narrate this than Bill O’Reilly? I
I learned so much about “the system” in place at the time Jesus lived and about the courage of his followers. One note that I found particularly interesting was why Jesus chose fishermen. (Perhaps I am showing my ignorance.)
This book brought me up the learning curve. I am so glad I read this during my Lenten preparations this year.

Historia
Sally has recently left an unfulfilling job to volunteer at a living history museum, where she is assigned to the Death House. Every day, she dons Victorian mourning garb and describes traditional funeral services to tourists. It sounds depressing as hell, but for Sally, it’s less depressing than her tepid marriage to her childhood sweetheart. This becomes all too clear when she accidentally travels through time and space to a liminal world where the ghosts of the living history museum haunt its grounds. There, she meets and falls hard for Victorian-era pretty boy Nathaniel.

Awful pablum. She didn’t know a thing about the new guy but she loved him why? Because he was beautiful?? She was tired of her husband why? Because they were perfect for each other?

Even I loved Carlo
Revisado: 05-23-21
Judy Kaye is the perfect narrator for this book. She captured the tough and the vulnerable sides of the main character. I became really disappointed early in the story when Brigid turns an accident into a series of compounding lies. Heck, even I loved Carlo enough to trust him with the truth of that accident. Still, I suspended belief and kept listening. Lots of great surprises and a gripping reveal. Was glad I didn’t give up too soon.

Historia
Shelby works as a dog walker in northern California, and she’s just finished up her bi-weekly trip to the park with a husky named Pluto. When she brings him back to his house, she finds his owner - Todd Burke, a well-known local businessman and founder of an organic supplements company - lying on the bathroom floor, dead. A detective arrives on the scene. As she interviews Shelby, the body is inspected by a medical examiner, and more cops search Todd’s home, it becomes clear that the victim’s life was less picture-perfect than his clean-cut persona might lead you to believe.
