Historia
Riley Denton-Everett always felt like something was missing in her life—and her numerous odd jobs and short-lived relationships haven’t brought her any closer to finding it. Everything changes when she receives a mysterious message: You’re a Denton. You belong on Starfall Point. Once you’re here, I’ll tell you everything you need to know. When Riley arrives on the island, she learns her aunt has left her a historic mansion brimming with haunted antiques. Turns out, that’s not the only thing she’s inherited. Riley also hails from a long line of witches.

Meh…not as good as other series
Revisado: 01-26-23
I have enjoyed other Molly Harper series Ie: Mystic Bayou, Naked Werewolf and have enjoyed them. This one landed a little flat. Maybe as it develops more depth:characters it will improve.

Revisado: 07-20-20
If you Hate liberals you might find this book amusing. But I doubt it. So disappointing. I love Larry Correia’s writing and I’ve read many of his books. If I had known this was a rant against liberalism I would have passed.

Historia
Since time immemorial, humans have worshipped the gods they call Fhrey, truly a race apart: invincible in battle, masters of magic, and seemingly immortal. But when a god falls to a human blade, the balance of power between humans and those they thought were gods changes forever. Now only a few stand between humankind and annihilation: Raithe, reluctant to embrace his destiny as the God Killer; Suri, a young seer burdened by signs of impending doom; and Persephone, who must overcome personal tragedy to lead her people. The Age of Myth is over. The time of rebellion has begun.

I almost gave up ...
Revisado: 04-27-19
I loved his first series with outstanding characters, woven story lines and dry witty banter. I was grumblingly disappointed as I slogged through the first 4 hours of this one. Where had the wit and, well, goodness gone? Could I have been wrong about how good the last series was? Even the narrator seemed dry and somewhat monotonous. Then somewhere around hour 4 every started to fall together and the foundation laid during the beginning of the book paid off and the next 12.5 hours were Mr. Sullivan’s fantastic world with everything one could want in a book; action, drama, humor , the whole package. And the narration was great too, each character distinct and powerfully portrayed using tone and inflection.
And while the end of the book is a cliff hanger, I felt like I left the table full and satisfied. Not like I’d been fed a third of a book, having to read the rest of the series to bring closure to a critical story arc. Rather the “cliff hanger” felt like a segue into a new melange of stories a adventures.
Looking forward to continuing on with this series.

These hinterlands are the homeland of Gaius Petreius Ruso's slave, Tilla, who has scores of her own to settle there: Her tribespeople, under the leadership of the mysterious Stag Man, are fomenting a rebellion, and her former lover is implicated in the murder of a soldier. Ruso, once again pulled into a murder investigation, is appalled to find that Tilla is still spending time with the prime suspect.

I tend to be pretty choosy about how I spend my credits. I got the first of the series on sale. I looked through my local library to see if I could download any of the books but could not. And I couldn’t forget the story so now I believe I have the first five.

Historia
The medicus Ruso and his wife, Tilla, are back in the borderlands of Britannia, this time helping to tend the builders of Hadrian's Great Wall. Having been forced to move off their land, the Britons are distinctly on edge. Then Ruso's recently arrived clerk, Candidus, goes missing. A native boy thinks he sees a body being hidden inside the wall's half-finished stonework, and a worrying rumor begins to spread. When soldiers ransack the nearby farms looking for Candidus, Tilla's tentative friendship with a local family turns to anger and disappointment.

Being an empath has never been easy on Jade's relationships. It's no wonder she keeps her gift a secret. Let Me Tell You About My Friend’s Dream
Revisado: 12-29-18
It’s kinda like that.
Developing a character is more than just describing their same shallow feelings repeatedly.
It’s not terrible, but it’s not listen in a couple sessions. Listening to 1/2 hour a day will be plenty. Maybe that would mitigate the cyclical and repetitive nature of the story.

Historia
To most, they are animals—even when in human form. They are to be collared and kept on the fringes of society, scorned because they are feared, hated for their extraordinary powers. And attorney Kim Fraser has to go right into the heart of their lair. It’s her job to defend those in need. But there’s absolutely nothing defenseless about Liam Morrissey. His soft Irish lilt and feline grace can’t disguise his sheer strength.

Listen to it at .75x for a better experience
Revisado: 12-27-18
I see a lot of people have complained about the narrator, however personally I think it’s obvious that the producers sped up her narration of the book. Listening to it at 75% of normal speed is just about right. Of course if you really don’t like the story then you’re just prolonging the agony. But I found the book to be ok, not like ones that I’ve had to return within an hour. Better than some, worse than others. It was good for just listening to in the background while I worked.

Revisado: 12-05-18
Great stuff. The depth of character development makes the books so much more interesting. And the story lines are clear and mesh and intertwined masterfully . Ms Huff always had a great story, but I think her writing has steadily improved over the years.

Historia
Mack might be, to all intents and purposes, a normal looking human, but she lives with a pack of shapeshifters in Cornwall in rural England after being dumped there by her mother when she was just a young child. She desperately wants to be accepted by her surrogate family, not least because a lot of them hate her for merely being human, but for some reason her blood just won't allow the transformation to occur.

weak
Revisado: 09-18-15
What disappointed you about Bloodfire?
The storyline was weak and didn't really hold up. The "heroine" has to be saved. It might make an ok pre-teen book if the swearing was left out. It might be one of those books that works better as a read rather than a listen too. There is a lot of repetition......we get it, if the brethren find out she is human it's a problem.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
All of the main character's emotions are more or less in the same slightly breathy tone.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
It was shorter than some
