Historia
Tragedy has struck His Majesty's Aerial Corps, whose magnificent fleet of fighting dragons and their human captains valiantly defends England’s shores against the encroaching armies of Napoleon Bonaparte. An epidemic of unknown origin and no known cure is decimating the noble dragons’ ranks—forcing the hopelessly stricken into quarantine. Now only Temeraire and a pack of newly recruited dragons remain uninfected—and stand as the only means of an airborne defense against France's ever bolder sorties.

This applies to the abridged version only

Ordered the abridged version by mistake. The narration was poor after Simon's style. Temeraire's voice was that of a four year old girl and very off-putting. Would not recommend this version.

Historia
Court Gentry is known as The Gray Man—a legend in the covert realm, moving silently from job to job, accomplishing the impossible, and then fading away. And he always hits his target. But there are forces more lethal than Gentry in the world. And in their eyes, Gentry has just outlived his usefulness. Now, he is going to prove that for him, there's no gray area between killing for a living-and killing to stay alive.

Preposterous and childish
Revisado: 02-20-14
I can't imagine how the narrator kept a straight face with all the inane events, stereotypical characters and unbelievable coincidences that occur repeatedly thoughout the story.

A classic B western (FUN)
Revisado: 07-27-12
Great imaginative story. Taylor has a reservoir of great ideas. It's a very John Wayne western disguised in sic fi, with fun, accurate, technical flourishes. Mr. Dufris is beyond excellent as a narrator. I will be sad to find the ending.
