True to Life
Revisado: 04-14-25
Dana struggled with everyone's struggles.. Office politics, interpersonal reactions and the constant opening of mouth before ears. But the real detailed story telling is the best of all. I read/listened to this book instead of TV as I was engrossed and waiting to hear "what would happen next". Highly recommended listening.

Historia
Traditional interpretations of the creatures of the Bible have sanded down their sharp, unsavory edges, transforming them into celestial beings of glory and light—or chubby, happy cherubs. Those cherubs? They're actually hybrid guardian monsters, more closely associated with the Egyptian sphinx than with flying babies. And the seraphim? Winged serpents sent to mete out God's vengeance. Demons aren't at war with angels; they're a distinct supernatural species used by Satan and by God. The pattern is chilling. Most of these monsters aren't God's opponents—they're God's entourage.

These 24 lectures introduce what is considered the most important collection of post-New Testament writings. Although largely unknown and unread, these writings provide a treasure trove of insights into Christianity, and they are crucial to understanding the development of a religion that was shaped largely outside the pages of the New Testament itself.

So many things I thought I knew but didn't!
Revisado: 03-25-22
this engaging storyteller brings to life the Old testament stories that I have known for my 50 plus years. bringing to light the fact that King David was by definition half Moabite! I knew that! I knew his lineage Ruth and Boaz but never put two and two together! this is just one small example of the many aha! moments these lecture series have given me.

Nailed sheds light on ten beloved Christian myths, and, with evidence gathered from historians across the theological spectrum, shows how they point to a Jesus Christ created solely through allegorical alchemy of hope and imagination; a messiah transformed from a purely literary, theological construct into the familiar figure of Jesus - in short, a purely mythic Christ.
