Historia
Plain Speaking is a book based on conversations between Merle Miller and the thirty-third President of the United States, Harry S. Truman. From these interviews, as well as others who knew him over the years, Miller transcribes Truman’s feisty takes on everything from his personal life, military service, and political career to the challenges he faced in taking the office during the final days of World War II and the beginning of the Cold War.

Historia
In this book (previously published as Crippled America), we're going to look at the state of the world right now. It's a terrible mess, and that's putting it mildly. There has never been a more dangerous time. The politicians and special interests in Washington, DC, are directly responsible for the mess we are in. So why should we continue listening to them?

“WHAT???”
Revisado: 08-13-24
This book is all over the place. Very strange situations. Also, a protagonist you just want to slap. I dont see how a woman could find an indecisive whiny guy like Ben remotely attractive. The repetitive use of “WHAT?!?” is irksome. His lack of social skill is literally unbearable. I hope the movie is better

Based on hundreds of interviews with friends, family, and lovers over a thirty-year period—as well as previously unreleased material from the JFK Library—Kennedy historian J. Randy Taraborrelli paints an unforgettable new portrait of a woman whose flaws and contradictions only serve to make her even more iconic. “I have three lives,” Jackie told a former lover, “public, private and secret.” In this revealing biography, listeners will become intimately familiar with all three.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Such… A Good Book!!!
Revisado: 11-29-21
I am not a huge science-fiction fan unless Andy Weir is the writer. I had read the Martian a few years ago and it was excellent. I decided to try out Hail Mary after seeing all the good reviews. The story is excellent. It gives you just about everything that you want overall. And it leaves the door open for a potential sequel which I really hope is considered. The narration by Mr. Porter is spot on. All emotion and voice inflection is excellent! I will probably look into some of the other books that he narrates.

Historia
Billy Halleck commits vehicular manslaughter when his lack of attention results in the death of an old gypsy lady on the street. Overweight Halleck is a lawyer with connections, though, and he gets off with a slap on the wrist. After the trial, the victim's ancient father curses him with a single word: "thinner". Shedding weight by the week, Halleck is desperate enough for one last gamble...one that will lead him to a nightmare showdown with the forces of evil melting his flesh away.

Great Book!
Revisado: 05-21-21
Loved the story. Joe Mantegna’s narration was definitely on point! The storyline was gripping. Only thing I wish for would be a more finite end to the story instead of the whole “left up to reader interpretation” method.

Historia
Andrew Roberts' Napoleon is the first one-volume biography to take advantage of the recent publication of Napoleon's thirty-three thousand letters, which radically transform our understanding of his character and motivation. At last we see him as he was: protean multitasker, decisive, surprisingly willing to forgive his enemies and his errant wife Josephine.
