Historia
The New Testament gives us 27 canonical texts - gospels, letters, and more - but these works are only a tiny fraction of the many volumes written about the life of Jesus, his family, and the apostles. This alternative body of literature falls under the category of "apocrypha", which means "hidden" or "secret", and it offers fascinating insights into the early Christian world. But these early Christian apocryphal works are more than historical curiosities.

So many apocryphal questions answered, finally!
Revisado: 09-20-24
I have read, perused, or am at least in possession of many of the apocryphal texts, or partial manuscripts (copies) that have left me with many unanswered questions, or completely dumbfounded, but professor expertly illuminates, and interprets these ancient writings, and cross-referencing them with other ancient writings I had not previously known about-leaving me presently satisfied with answers and a better understanding of the “why” of early Christian writings.

Historia
What did Jesus teach? Distilled from years of study and lecture, affirmed by nearly a million listeners over the last 50 years, Emmet Fox's answer in The Sermon on the Mount is simple. The Bible is a "textbook of metaphysics" and the teachings of Jesus express - without dogma - a practical approach for the development of the soul and for the shaping of our lives into what we really wish them to be. For Fox, Jesus was "no sentimental dreamer, no mere dealer in empty platitudes, but the unflinching realist that only a great mystic can be".

Outstanding! Except for the narrator!
Revisado: 01-02-23
I have read this book many times and listened to it here on Audible a few times as well. Every time I pick up this book, I learn something new that I didn’t see or understand last time. Though I don’t understand, with a book that has such an important message, why would they publish an audiobook narrated by somebody incompetent in their English reading skills! Just terrible! Accenting the wrong word or syllables, finishing as if to the end of the sentence, and then, realizing there’s more-sounds like a youth who doesn’t yet have the reading/speaking skills necessary when presenting a major, well known work! It’s really annoying when it happens again, and again, and again. I lose my concentration, and have to rewind back to the spoken error. Other than that, great message! Really recommend it for those who are seeking, as well as those who are already on the path!

Historia
Before its end as a nation, there appeared in ancient Israel nine specific warnings and omens of national destruction. These same nine harbingers are now manifesting in America with profound ramifications for America’s future and end-time prophecy. Hidden in an ancient biblical prophecy from Isaiah, the mysteries revealed in The Harbinger are so precise that they foretell recent American events down to the exact days.

Historia
Because of the prophetic nature of her messages, Our Lady of Fatima has been the subject of much controversy and speculation. In this audiobook, Father Andrew Apostoli carefully analyzes the events that took place in Fatima and clears up lingering questions and doubts about their meaning. He also challenges the reader to hear anew the call of Our Lady to prayer and sacrifice, for the world is ever in need of generous hearts willing to make reparation for those in danger of losing their way to God.

If not for the horrible narration this would’ve been a five star review
Revisado: 03-05-22
For years I’ve wanted to read the Fatima books as I didn’t really know the story at all. How wonderful to finally know the story and how it has helped in augmenting and renewing my faith! Had it not been for the inexperienced, novus reader I would have given this book a five star review. Especially considering the importance of the message of the story how could it be considered unimportant enough to not hire a professional actor/narrator to read the book for us? I am going to look for another book that will be read by a seasoned expert.

Horrible Narration!
Revisado: 02-15-22
After the dozens and dozens of audiobooks I’ve listened to this is the first time I have felt strongly enough about the presentation of the audiobook to leave a review. The narration of this book is absolutely horrible! The narrator has no experience and sounds like he’s reading a nursery rhyme to a child most the time. I couldn’t get even an eighth of the way through this volume. I bought another version of the apocrypha narrated by someone with ability.

Historia
In Writing the Big Book, William H. Schaberg presents an exciting, research-driven narrative of the history of the book, Alcoholic Anonymous, and the formative years of A.A. Granted extensive access to the group's archives along with several other sources, the author reveals the early Fellowship's conflicts and personalities, successes and failures, and dispels many of the myths found in such canonical texts as Dr. Bob and the Good Old Timers, Alcoholics Anonymous Comes of Age, and A Brief History of the Big Book.

Outstanding ACCURATE presentation of how the 1st edition of the AA Big Book came in to being!
Revisado: 04-09-21
Having been around now with a couple of days of sobriety under my belt and having read just about every other Conference approved literature, I am fascinated with these facts and how they don’t necessarily jive with what most of us think happened. In no way whatsoever does this exhaustive review take anything away from the program of action. It is just a very interesting presentation of the facts as they actually occurred.

Historia
Racehorses with Tourette's syndrome, spinning dogs with epilepsy, cats with obsessive-compulsive disorder, feather-plucking parrots with anxiety, and a diffident bull terrier with autism - these astonishing cases were all helped by One Medicine, which emphasizes the similarities, rather than differences, between animals and humans. Inspiring, sometimes heartbreaking, and utterly fascinating, Pets on the Couch demonstrates how what we share with our animals can only lead us to a greater appreciation for them - and for our mutual bonds.

But the narrative voice of this recording is anything but meditative. I realize it's the younger Cayce but it's just not the kind of melodic voice easy to meditate to for me.
